Bakugou stared at the villain in shock. Deku was here. He thought that Deku was with the League, not Stain!

That didn't matter right now. What mattered was defeating the villains, so they could be turned in. Except he was paralyzed.

Deku jumped at Todoroki's left side instantly, knowing that Todoroki couldn't defend that side without fire. Todoroki jumped back, and shot an ice glacier at him. Deku just sidestepped it, a second after it had started forming. "You're predictable, Todoroki. Always using those ice glaciers of yours. It might just get you killed." Deku cackled, before rushing at Todoroki again.

Todoroki made a wall of ice to slow the villain down, but he shattered it with his knife. Todoroki jumped to the side to dodge a wild punch from the villain, who jumped back and began circling Todoroki.

Todoroki kept his eyes on the villain the whole time, sending glaciers at Deku, who easily dodged the attacks. "Oh come on, Todoroki! Would it kill you to use your fire?" He sighed, before jumping at Todoroki unexpectedly, successfully slashing across Todoroki's right arm before jumping back. Seeing that his long ranged attacks wouldn't work, Todoroki closed in on the villain.

Problem was, his ice wasn't good for close range, and he would not use his fire. He didn't have much training with hand-to-hand combat either. Deku could see this, and took advantage of it, grabbing Todoroki's wrist, pushing him down, and tying his wrists together with rope. He then stabbed Todoroki in the leg, which would make it harder for him to walk.

The rope was coated in quirk suppressants, so he couldn't use his quirk unless he managed to get out. "What a shame, Todoroki. Someone as powerful as you, lost to a small villain like me~! If only you had used your fire... surely you could tell that it would give you the upper hand! So, tell me, why don't you use it?" Deku asked,  giggling creepily.

Todoroki responded with a monotone voice "I won't use my father's power. I'm nothing like him, so I can't use that curse."

Deku's giggling stopped, and he turned dead serious. "You're Endeavor's son. I met him once, before I became a villain. Well, I didn't meet him, really, but I saw him in action. He... isn't very pleasant. And you have that burn scar over your eye. Todoroki, tell me honestly, were you... abused?"

Bakugou saw Iida shift slightly in the corner of his eye. Stain's quirk was wearing off. But with that stab wound, he wouldn't be moving much until he recovered.

Todoroki hesitated, before nodding slowly.

"I can't understand what you went through. My mom was always so supportive of me, and I never even met my dad. But... I know how it feels, thinking that your all alone, and your path is made for you. Feeling like no one will care about you, and that nothing will get better" the villain crouched down in front of him.

"But none of that is true. There are people who will understand you, care about you. Your future isn't set in stone, you can change what happens in your story! Don't let him influence you anymore. You can't forget the past, but you shouldn't let it control you" Deku smiled softly at him, and suddenly, he didn't seem like a villain to Todoroki. He seemed like.. a friend. Like his friend. Almost.

He didn't notice tears threatening to spill from his eyes.

Bakugou's arm twitched. He pushed himself up. He laughed at the scene. "Geez Icy-Hot, you're seriously going to cry at some quirkless villain's speech?! Pathetic!"

He powered himself up with One for All, and lunged at Deku. If Deku dodged, he knew Bakugou would end up harming Todoroki more. And at that exact moment, the old Deku, the one that wanted to protect people, was back. Deku grabbed Bakugou's arms, and shoved him to the side.

"Fight me, worthless Deku!"

And with those words, the villain was back. He rushed at Bakugou, knife in hand, slashing at him like a madman.

Todoroki was no longer paying attention to the fight. He was thinking.

He... that villain, he understood how I felt, even if he didn't go through exactly what I did. Why would he try to help me, when I'm his enemy?

Shoto was four when his quirk appeared. He was four when his father started torturing him. He said it was training, so Shoto could surpass All Might as a hero. His father would train him, force his body far past it's limits, until he was on the floor, puking and shaking. He would say "get up, Shoto. If that's all you can do, you'll never beat All Might!"

His mom would intervene, reasoning that Shoto was still a child. So his father would beat her senseless.

He rarely got to see his brothers or sister, but when he did, it was cut short, because his father said he didn't have time for playing games, if he wanted to surpass All Might. Thing is, he didn't want to surpass All Might. He wanted to have a normal childhood. Maybe become a hero, but he didn't care about surpassing All Might.

One night his mom snapped under pressure. Shoto was going to the kitchen in the middle of the night, he couldn't remember why exactly. His mom was talking to her mom on the phone, while making tea. She said that she didn't want to live like this anymore, and that Shoto's left side only reminded her of his father.

When she noticed him, she said his left side was ugly, and dumped boiling water on his face, which would later become his scar. She was sent to a mental hospital.

Not a year later, Touya, his oldest brother ran away. It made the three who were left sad, with him gone.

He hated it all. All the pain, all the suffering. All of it.

Bakugou sent explosions at Deku left and right, no longer able to keep using One for All. Deku dodged them all, but he constantly hit Bakugou, punching and kicking and slashing and sometimes biting.

Honestly, the bites weren't all to painful, but Bakugou worried that they would get infected. He had no idea how well the villain was actually able to take care of himself.

Deku stabbed the knife into his shoulder. Bakugou pulled back, away from the villain. He started to yank the knife out, when Deku said "careful now, Kacchan. That might just make the wound bleed out faster."

Deku pushed him down, shoving the knife in further. He tied Bakugou up with the quirk suppressant rope, before kicking him. "I'd kill you right now, but the heroes are almost here. I don't want to get caught tonight.." the villain mumbled, before he started walking into the shadows.

"Wait." Todoroki called out suddenly, "I.. think I want to join the villains"
