Start of Something

Later

A few years had past and Lauren found herself in the control of the Ash. He had control over almost every aspect of her life. What he said, she did. Whether it be a test she ran in her lab or a Fae she treated or misdiagnosed. It was all up to the Ash. Lauren was there for the Ash's every beck and call.

One day Lauren was out shopping, even though the Ash controlled every aspect of her life, she still did her own grocery shopping. Lauren noticed a young, petite woman slipping through the people pinching wallets from pockets, while she was in line.

"Hey you!" Lauren shouted, snatching her groceries from the counter and going after the woman.

The woman ran from the store and out to the streets. Lauren followed her, chasing her through an alleyway that ended in a fence. The woman stopped close to the end and turned staring with fear stricken, bright blue eyes. Her hair was long, straight and jet black. Her hair framed her small pale face perfectly. She looked about 18 years old.

"Ok just wait a minute." Lauren said calmly. " I won't turn you in, I just want to know what your name is?"

Lauren had to admit that she was slightly attracted to this woman. Maybe it's because she was so young. Or perhaps it was because she looked so vulnerable.

"Uh... um... You swear you won't turn me in?" The woman said, her voice shaky with fear.

"I swear. I just want to help you." Lauren said carefully.

"My... my name?"

"Yes what is your name? I am Lauren." She said extending her hand and slowly moving closer.

The woman shook it and said, " I am Kenzi."
