"goodbye chicago"
"ugh i'm so excited we can finally leave this place" i groaned throwing my backpack on my older sisters bed. "me too" she replied "now go do your homework" we both giggled and i went to my room to start my homework.

when mom passed away dove and i promised her that we would move to los angeles when dove turned 18. dove is my older sister. she's 18 and i'm 16. we live with our dad and he's horrible. he's an alcoholic, he's emotionally abusive, he's homophobic, i could go on for ages. dove and i are so excited to finally get away from him. mom always wanted to live in la but she was never able to so she at least wanted dove and i to. i've always wanted to move to la so im really excited.

moving wouldn't be a problem for me at all. it's not like anyone here would miss me. now i'm not trying to sound dramatic or anything but i don't have any friends here. i've lived here all my life and my only friends are dove and my dog coco, but saying goodbye to coco won't be a problem since she's moving with dove and i. i'm sure dad won't miss us either.

i was sitting on my bedroom floor watching criminal minds when dove walked into my room. "hey you better start packing and get some sleep. we have to leave for the airport at three" "ugh three in the morning?" "yes three in the morning" she said in a voice mocking me. "ok fine" "thank you. i'm gonna go pack now" and with that she left my room.

i woke up to dove shaking me. i rubbed my eyes and groaned. it was time to leave. i grabbed of my suitcases and bags and took them to the car. my room looked empty. the rest of my stuff was in moving vans, including my bed.

once we were ready, dove and i stood outside of our childhood home for a while. "goodbye chicago" i whispered as we walked to the car dove had rented to drive back to the airport.

*time skip*

dove, coco and i were sitting at the airport. it was almost time to get on our plane. the flight would be about 4 hours. as soon as it was time to get on the plane dove and i grabbed our carry ons and rushed to our seats. i got the window seat obviously. coco sat on my lap.

it's currently 4:43 am and we're only about 30 minutes into the flight. i'm starting to get a bit bored but i brought some stuff to stay entertained. for most of the time i was on my phone. i finished a book. by the time i was done with the book we had about an hour and a half left of the flight. dove and i decided to start talking about what we're gonna do in la and how we're gonna live. "gosh it's probably going to be so different from chicago" "yeah i'm kind of nervous" 

i'm really proud of dove. she's been working since she was 14 to save money so she and i could move. mom left us everything she had so that helped a lot. she wasn't necessarily rich but i have to say she was a pretty wealthy woman. she left behind quite a lot of money for us so we were able to buy a nice home.

once we landed, we got our suitcases and walked over to the café less than a block away from the airport. we had just gotten off of a four and a half hour flight and we needed coffee. before we ordered our coffee we called an uber to get us and take us to our house.

we got picked up by the uber and dropped off at our new home. as soon as i saw the outside i knew i would love it. dove and i walked inside and put our bags down. i loved the house, it was beautiful. dove and i both ran upstairs followed by coco and went into the two bedrooms. once we decided who was getting which bedroom we brought our bags upstairs. the moving vans wouldn't be here until tomorrow so we didn't have our beds or dressers or anything so we decided we wouldn't even unpack.

it was only around nine in the morning but dove and i were both tired so once we were settled in we decided to both take a nap. we pulled out some blankets and pillows we had in our suitcases and made little beds on the floor in her bedroom. we dozed off pretty quick
