ANNIE LEBLANC

"Hey, you still on for ice cream later after school?" I whisper at Johnny.

"Yeah." He replies.

"Great." I say. "Maybe go to a park after or something?"

"That'd be cool." He says as I give him a smile.

"Is there anything you want to share to the class, Ms. Leblanc and Mr. Orlando?" Mr. Dwight asks.

I look at him.

"N-Nothing sir, just....borrowed a pen, that's all." I explain.

"Make sure not to disturb the class next time?" Mr. Dwight suggested before he continued to teach.

"Borrow a pen, huh?" I hear Johnny say with a small smile on his face.

"Sorry." I whisper back at Johnny.

"It's okay." Johnny says. "Thought you were feeling risky?"

"I was, but not to get caught by Dwight." I tell him. "It could've been any teacher, just not him."

"Looks like someone's scared of-" Johnny teases before I nudge him.

"Not funny." I say.

"So we're still going for it later?" He asks.

"Of course!" I whisper yell at him. "I'll meet you at your locker."

"Great." He says before we both looked at the board in front of us.

"Hey," I say, walking up to Johnny.

He closes his locker and looks at me.

"Hey." He says.

"So," I start. "Let's go?"

"Sure." He says as we both head out of school.

"So, why start being risky?" He asks.

"I don't know, I felt like it was a fun thing to do." I tell him.

"Since when was trouble fun for you?" Johnny asks. "Not so long ago you were this sweet little girl who hated getting in trouble."

"Things change." I tell him. "Plus, I'm in a way different level of happy today."

"Yeah, I've noticed." He says.

I stopped walking.

He looked back.

"Why? What happened? Did I say anything?" Johnny asks walking towards me.

"W-What do you mean, you noticed?" I ask.

"No, don't take it the wrong way." He tells me. "But, recently, you've been stressing out with something I don't really know. And, not to be rude or anything but, it has greatly affected everyone who you've been communicating with."

He's right.

I've been stressed out by all my personal problems, I've been releasing my anger to everyone else around me.

"Hey, we could always talk about it." He says. "You can tell me, we could get everything through together."

I smile at him.

"It's fine. I can handle it." I tell him. "Come on, let's go."

I grab his hand and start walking a bit faster.

"Woah, relax." I hear Johnny say. "Someone's excited to get her ice cream."

I look at him.

"Very." I say.
