The day went by in a blur after her training session with her husband. He took off quickly and left her in the house to take her own shower and remain in her own thoughts. She would be meeting with Dr. Hans the next day. She didn't understand how to sort out the feelings within her gut.
On the one hand, she was happy that she was getting attention from one man in her life, even if it wasn't her man. On the other hand, her brain continued to whisper that what she was doing could evolve into an affair.
She had never done anything so scandalous before. The thought of her relationship with the doctor and herself moving into uncharted territory made her both giddy with excitement and terrified at the same time.
When she had spoken her vows, she promised him that she would remain faithful to him and him alone. It was hard, considering the fact that the only action she had recently with him was a couple of hours she and he spent sparring with him in the basement.
A sigh escaped her lips. She needed to calm down and focus on her head instead of her hormones that continued to rage within her. She blamed Leo for not spending enough time with her. They were husband and wife, and at the moment, she felt like the only one in the relationship.
A disgruntled sound escaped her lips. She loved Leo, she really did; however, it was becoming tiresome to love him when he would not reciprocate it. Perhaps his work was becoming more taxing and stressful as the days went on. Perhaps there were some things within the company that was going awry. Perhaps he had a mistress.
Her thought process halted right then and there. If he had a mistress, it would conclude as to why he was spending late hours in his office. It would finally piece together the puzzle as to why their relationship was no longer physically intimate as it once was.
It was mean that she had a reason to get back at him with the doctor.
Ugh! She could not believe that she was justifying her soon-to-be affair with her husband's mistakes. She hated the feeling of unease creeping into her gut.
She found it imperative to get a grip and to lose sight of the handsome doctor. Sure, he had knowledge that surpassed her husband's in the medical field, he was handsome and made her laugh unlike Leo, but she was married to Leo.
Her brain needed to take a break from her wild thoughts. She needed to be reminded to whom she belonged to. She needed Leo to spend more time with her and treat her like his last dying breath. Unlike now, where he was treating her like a regular breath of polluted air.
In a hasty decision, she picked up her phone from the nightstand and dialed Leo's number. The shrill sound of the ringing entered into her ear four times before she was greeted by Leo's rough, baritone voice.
"What? I'm in the middle of a meeting." She should have been accustomed to his informal greeting and the pang that it left in her heart, but yet there she was, clinging onto the sheets like they were her last hope.
"When will you be home?"
"Jesus, woman. I told you later tonight." She wanted to bark back at him and demand an actual time. She heard a sigh from the other line. "Sorry." No, he wasn't. "I'll be home in about two hours."
Glancing at the clock, she imagined that he would arrive anywhere between eleven and twelve. "Okay. I-" He hung up.
She stayed awake, awaiting his presence to make itself known when he walked into the room. When eleven passed, she figured that he would be home in about an hour. When the twelfth hour passed, she surmised that there was traffic and that he would be home shortly.
Her eyes began to drop to a close when the clock struck one in the morning. She would have to be up and ready to go to work in the span of six hours which would mean she would barely have enough sleep for a twelve-hour shift.
Allowing her eyes to drop like her hope in her husband, she fell into a dreamless sleep.

Leo was beyond infuriated. His phone call with his wife had interrupted a particularly important investment meeting where he could have focused his attention on something more than when he would arrive home.
He hadn't the slightest idea as to why he answered her phone call. He supposed it had something to do with the way her hot sex fit perfectly against his growing arousal earlier that morning.
Running his hands down his face, it was necessary for him to get her out of her head. He needed a quick fuck with her and then he could resume back to normal. His brain whispered that a "quick fuck" wouldn't be able to satiate the need he was growing for her. For anyone, at least that's what he attempted to tell himself.
His attention needed to be on Jonas whose home was ransacked. Everything was either demolished or thrown to the ground. Bookcases were upturned, silverware and glassware were in piled of broken shards, furniture was ripped to shreds, and so much more than it was hard to take everything in.
Upon arriving at Jonas' house, he took note of Jonas' sobbing wife and how she was bleeding profusely from her side as Jonas held her in his arms. A medic they had on staff came and assessed her, noting that she needed stitches and a pack of ice.
He noticed that the son was nowhere to be seen.
At his meeting, he took in the solemn face of Jonas. The man had basically just lost his entire fortune and almost his wife. Even though he found out his son was staying at a friend's house, the fear of not knowing where he went had spooked Jonas enough to shut down almost completely.
Without a shadow of a doubt, Leo knew who had done the crime. Attacking a businessman like Jonas, he had no idea why Spektor would do that. Perhaps it had something to do with the business deal he had acquired with Jonas and Spektor wanted to attack Leo's business.
If Spektor actually wanted to lay siege on his business, going after Jonas wasn't the most insulting move to make. Jonas' deal was minute in comparison to the other deals that he had from other investors. The problem, however, resides in the fact that he did attack Jonas.
Perhaps Jonas was working for Spektor, but that wouldn't make sense because whenever Jonas was in the proximity of him, he would coward away like a puppy with his tail between his legs.
Perhaps Spektor wasn't interested in Jonas after all. Perhaps what Spektor was doing was creating a distraction for Leo to follow up on. If this were to be true, what was Spektor distracting him from?
What was Spektor planning?
