"I'm sorry Mistah J... But I love Ivy."
Ivy stared in anticipation waiting for this freak's reaction, Ecco begged her to let her try to just tell him normally. For some reason, Ecco still loves him, it's like she is brainwashed. But ever since they met, Ecco had begun to feel clearer and clearer, her mind was clear with Ivy and soon enough love blossomed between the two of them.
Jeremiah was quiet, his face full of thought, he tilted his chin up as he let out a sigh, "I guess there are other fish in the sea," Ivy glared at him, he still gives zero shits about her she wished she could just kill him but for Ecco she won't.
Ecco smiled widely, "thank you! I knew you'd understand, I told her, she didn't believe me!" She exclaimed sounding excited to have his approval.
Jeremiah smiled back as Ecco glanced over at Ivy to give her a reassuring smile that said I told you so when all of sudden-
BANG!
It was like life stopped as Jeremiah shot Ecco in the chest!
Ecco stumbled as she touched the wound, blood spilling over her hands as she looked up meeting Ivy's terrified frozen look, "Ives..." She spoke as she almost fell but Ivy caught her, her first instinct to catch her as she fell to the floor with her holding her close.
Jeremiah's laugh sounded as Ivy was finally broken out of her frozen state as she glared tearfully up, "I'm going to kill you!" She hissed as she lunged out, her plants immediately going to the attack!
He shot at them before he threw a plant-killing toxin grenade down that he got from Crane by personal request as he saw this coming weeks ago.
Ivy didn't try again as she looked down at the dying blonde in her arms, "Ecco," she spoke, "stay with me, please," she pleaded as she cradled her face, Ecco was losing consciousness, losing life, she could feel it. Her life force fading away back to the Earth.
"Red... I-" she coughed, blood spilling out of the side of her mouth as she spoke, "I l-love y-ya," she choked out.
Tears fell as Ecco went limp, her eyes were still open but there was nothing behind them... She was gone.
It took a minute for Ivy to react, she was frozen again holding Ecco's body close when Jeremiah's damn laugh again broke her out of it once again, she snapped her head up at him, "why the hell are you still here?!"
"I couldn't miss your reaction," Jeremiah stated simply, "it's just too entertaining."
"I hate you!" Ivy yelled as he laughed, every part of her was breaking, she couldn't breathe- it hurt that much. She didn't even feel alive, she was alone surrounded only by her plants, she never saw a reason to want to be normal or to have a relationship or to care about anyone else until Ecco. Ecco changed everything and now she is gone.
She met her forehead with Ecco's, just as she's done two times before, "I'll fix you," she whispered, "I promise."
"Oh, you might not want to promise that," Jeremiah cut in making her clench her fists.
Whatever was in that gas grenade was making it impossible for her plants to defend her, if it wasn't killing them, he would be dead at her feet, Ecco would be avenged.
He suddenly pulled out a red button as Ivy's face fell, he clicked it as she flinched making him laugh, "one of my famous bombs are in this building, you won't be able to make it out of here in time while carrying a body," he informed as panic rose in her chest, with that he laughed as he left.
Ivy panicked as she looked down at Ecco, she couldn't... There is no right choice... "What's a world worth living in if you're gone?" She spoke freely as she just pulled her body closer to her as she rested her forehead on hers closing her eyes giving up.
