Human beings are selfish by nature.
But why are people selfish?
We have tagged some or many people whom we have met in our life as 'selfish'. Yet, I am not talking about only that selfishness you're thinking of but the selfishness as a human being we all possess.
We all act and perform for our personal satisfaction at the end. Even when if we are doing things out of love and say, "I just want to do it. No reason". Even there, we did it because without the action, we couldn't stay calm or we felt uneasy not doing that. After it is done now, we feel good, we are satisfied and happy. The urge to finding satisfaction is our selfishness.
The selfishness is for satisfaction or say satisfaction is to fulfill selfishness. Sometimes I think 'selfish' is not the right word for that human nature because are we selfish? Am I? How can we stay selfish the whole time? and sometimes I think Yes, we are selfish and 'being that selfish' is not wrong at all. Even the quality of life of a person depends upon his/her satisfaction towards his/her life. If being selfish drives me to being satisfied, I am selfish. The need to quality life is selfishness and achieving it is satisfaction. Or there might be some cases where the horizon of needs get changed in the way without us knowing and we are yet to be satisfied even when our predetermined needs get fulfilled. So anyway satisfaction is induced by selfishness. And that selfishness is not bad at all.
