☡Angst/Bit of Fluff☡

_______

Alice whipped around as she heard a gasp. Panic hit her head and she saw souta, shaking. He stumbled downwards, sinking to his knees on the stone floor. He was starring at his hands. Blood from his shoulder finally started to reach his hands.

Alice awkwardly scuffled forward to drop to his side. Her face got close to his as she moved. She felt his shaking breath. She put her icey hands to arms, making Souta jolt. "We have to keep going." She said trying to clear her throat.

Speaking became harder as she saw the pain and terror in his eyes. A growl entered her throat, a new found drive pushed her forward. "We must keep going. Come- on." She grunted in effort as she began to pull him to his feet.

She was able to pull him for a short distance, her knees screaming at her the entire time she went. She felt her body began to shut down. It's energy to keep going faultered.

That damn crystal.

She pulled souta forward and shoved him ahead of her before collapsing.

Souta puffed. "What.....what is that?" His chin began to shake as he reached towards Alice. The panic of being unable to protect himself or his friend.

Alice struggled to push herself up. "It's taking our elements. It's...." she snuffed out as she turned back to look behind them. She pushed herself backwards.

Souta looked around quickly, becoming more frantic as he watched Alice's fire die. He pushed himself to his feet. His muscles felt as if they were pulled down by weights. He pulled himself between Alice and the crystal.

He saw it. What held it up.  A large lever kept it locked in place. His feet scuffed across the floor, dust and small stones flying as he moved.  His hands slowly raised up and aimed. His teeth gritted as his hands began to shake.

With what little wind he could muster and shoved himself forward to launch the blast. The lever shook and the metal in it groaned. It creaked and the crystal began to swing. It jolted a bit. Silence followed.

It broke.

Crashing to the ground, the crystal shattered. Pieces rocketed everywhere, powers from different masters rocketing from it.

Souta lost his balance, covering his face, and fell down beside Alice.  He felt a warm tickling feeling hit his arms as the crystal fell. After it all stopped, He puffed out and trembled.

Alice gave a weak grumble and began to push herself up, her back hitting Souta's. She winced and just laid back down. "What happened?" She sputtered.

"I fixed our crystal problem." Souta answered, glancing back to see his friend. Her eyes were glazed over, almost like she had become ill in one seconds. "Are you ok?"

Alice gave a small 'mhm' as and answer and closed her eyes. "Just. Uh. Give me a second." She slowly pushed herself up and got herself to sit up. "Are you ok- oh fff- your arm." She made herself sit beside him.

Souta moved his arm away from her. "It's fine.  The crystal just cut me a little. Let's just get out of here." Alice's breathing crackled before she spoke. "Yeah. Let's..."

Both of them struggled to stand up, leaning on eachother to do so. Their powers where back but their strength remained low. The only thing left on their minds was to get to the others before their capture came to check on them.

They both walked in silence for a long part of the way. Alice's shoulder slowly began to tense as she gained back some energy. She began to pull off what was left of her scarf and winced as she saw her finger tips.

They had been cut while she was trying to get out of the restraints she had been forced into.

She stopped and grumbled. "Souta, lemme see your arm." She said as she began to rip her scarf.

"Oh. Uh ok. Thanks. But you really don't have to. Let's just get out of herrrrouch!" Souta was cut off as Alice pressed the scarf to his wound. She put her hand over it and the cold eased it slightly.

Pain seemed to almost slap Souta in the face. It had gotten so numb do to letting it be still. Pain made his arm seem like it was in the middle of a growing pain that just got worse as time went.

Alice grumbled something then nodded. "I can't just let cha bleed out can I?" She asked. A small smile entered her face for a moment before it faded.

Souta watched her face for a moment then touched the cloth that rested on his cut. That really wasn't a thing He could reply to correctly.

He looked as his arms to see the cuts from the crystal and desided it wasn't all so bad. The pain had edged again. He glanced up and the muscles in his cheeks twitched. "There we go." He lightly hit Alice with the back of his hand and pointed to a open window.

Alice nodded and began walking that way. She looked pissed and proud at the same time. Shoulders squared and a furrowed brow. She got to the door and began to edge it open. "This leads to a tree line. We can probably contact your dad."

Souta smiled "good. But let's not contact my dad. He will never let me go on another one on one mission again." He snickered as he made his way to Alice.

Alice looked at him and her face slowly relaxed. She almost seemed real for a moment. "Yeah. Knowing him both of us would never be allowed."

And with that small agreement,
They began to make their way out.
