It was another summer day without Sam. I was reading in the rocking chair on the porch when my parents came out and told me that we were having dinner guests tonight. New neighbors who had just moved in next door they had a son my age and and an older son who was 19.

The table was set and we were ready to receive our new neighbors for dinner. When the doorbell rang my heart leapt with excitement but fear that I was going to do something wrong that would make them not like me. My parents called my name from the bottom of the stairs so I would come down and meet a our new neighbors. They were all wearing very preppy golf clothes the mom had blonde short hair, the dad had brown slick long hair pulled back in a pony and the 19 year old was standing in the corner of the hallway, the boy my age walk forward, it was him the boy I saw talking on the phone at the beach I was sure it was him, I would recognize that face anywere.

Finally we sat down at the old brown table for dinner, the parents were laughing together and the four of kids sat awkwardly at the other end of the table not saying a word to each other, just staring at our plates. Finally I broke the silence.

"How do you guys like your house ?" I asked.

"Great !" They said at the same time.

"Do you like it better than living in the city ?"

"No" snapped the 19-year-old.

"Yeah I like it better because I can walk my dog and I feel like I have more freedom" the boy my age answered.

"What are you guises names?" I asked awkwardly because I had realized that we didn't even know each other's names yet.

"My name is Felix" said the boy my age "and this is Max" he pointed to his brother.

" My name is Stela, and this is Luca" I said.

Dinner was OK, the only good part was that their mom had made an amazing chocolate cake. When everyone was done eating we said goodbye and they left around 10:15pm. I went upstairs and lay on my bed thinking about Felix.
