They say that right before we die, our life flashes before our eyes.
That even before we take our last breath, we have already left our bodies and no longer feel like corporeal beings.
Some believe we enter a state where death holds no fear, and if only for a brief and fleeting moment, we are given the time to reflect on who we were. Who we wanted to be. Who we are.
We experience this phenomenon of flashbacks, dating back to our second birthday, first kiss, graduation. An onslaught of memories to make us reminisce on the most pivotal moments in our lives.
And the best part?
Whether we're lying in our hospital bed with crowds of people surrounding us or stranded in the woods being mauled by a black bear, we're all subject to this same crazy phenomenon.
The same feelings of calm, dread, and nostalgia before the world goes black.
