Chapter 8

"You wanted to see me professor?" I asked as I politely sat down in one of the chair's after dinner. Dumbledore smiled and nodded his head, making his beard bob up and down slightly.

"Yes. Do you remember what I told you the other day?" He asked me. I nodded, searching my memory for what he had said.

"Yeah. You said that you needed my help with something? Something to do with Durmstrang." I told him. Dumbledore nodded, glad that I had remembered.

"Well, this year Durmstrang is hosting a competition known as the Triwizard Tournament. It involves a series of tasks and riddles that will be further explained when you get to Durmstrang. But it is also a way to bring these wizarding school together, somewhat. So we have decided that two students, a girl and a boy, will journey to Durmstrang and cheer on our champion." He told me. I nodded, understanding most of what he said. I wasn't sure what a champion was, but it sounded good.

"Sort of like an exchange program? Only, no one is coming here?" I clarified. Dumbledore nodded, thankfully knowing what an exchange program was.

"With the exception of the seventh years, who will all be going, students from each year have been selected and will be leaving on Halloween to participate in the Triwizard Tournament." Dumbledore answered. I chuckled a little, not sure why. It sounded kinda evil though...

"What about my issue?" I asked slowly. Dumbledore nodded, knowing all about it.

"All taken care of with the Headmaster of Durmstrang. He will explain when you arrive." He told me. I nodded and let out a breath of relief.

"Good. So who's the boy from my year?" I asked curiously. Wouldn't it be awkward if I didn't know them and they were all "Hey Willow! I know you!" Yeah, it would.

"You will see soon. I have told the others all to meet with me, also. They should be here soon enough and I will tell all of you why you were selected and what you must do." Dumbledore didn't say anything after that and neither did I. We just sat in silence, waiting for the other students to come. Some gradually come, but I didn't really know any of them. They all said hello to me and I did the same but no other conversation was made.

"Willow? What are you doing here?" I turned to look at the speaker and raised my eyebrows at James.

"Touché." I said in a weird voice. James rolled his eyes, sitting on the floor next to me. I had moved from my chair, not liking being one of the only ones sitting in a chair.

"Really Wils, what are you doing here?" James asked again, confused.

"Same reason you are." I answered, shrugging. James nodded, looking up at Dumbledore as he rose from his desk.

"Welcome all. Most of you know why you are here, but to the few of you that don't, I will quickly explain." Dumbledore then explained to some of the younger students, including James, about why we were all here.
