The sun hadn't even risen yet when Hank awoke to the first Monday of his adult life where he wouldn't be fishing on the open ocean. Today he was flying to Texas to see his son Joe, get married. His son was 27 and had been dating a girl Hank had never met for almost 4 years. He did, however, know the girl's name, it was Emma. Hank was a little bit nervous, having never been to Texas or met this girl his only son was about to marry. No matter, he was ready to see Joe again. Hank had woken up very much too early although in his defense he was used to waking up early, fishing starts early in the morning. He looked over to the clock that sat on his bedside table. 5:00 AM 7 hours until his plane left the airport. Hank lived in Harrington Maine a small town with only 960 people living there, that didn't include the people who go there for about a week in the summer to explore of course. Hank met his wife in Harrington when he was eating alone at Scovil's diner, she was also there alone and one of the waitresses told her to go and talk to him. The rest is history. His wife, however, died 9 years ago in a car accident. She was 54, Hank is now 64, they were only 1 year apart from each other in age. Anyways now it was 6:00 AM so It was time to take a shower and get dressed, Hank had already packed the night before, he knew he was gonna be in Texas for 4 days so that meant 4 outfits plus a suit (for the wedding.) 2 HOURS LATER
It now being 8:00 AM Hank was just about ready to start driving to the airport, first though he needed breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, that was something Hank's wife always said so he kept it in his heart always. He ate a breakfast of bacon and eggs and mashed potatoes, only however because Scovil's diner always had a heaping supply and a lot of the times needed someone to eat them, so Hank often obliged. His waitresses brought him the check, he paid and then walked over to the Coca Cola cooler that held pies from last night. He picked out the last blueberry piece and brought it over to the breakfast bar to purchase it. Hank said goodbye to his friend who was sitting at the bar and walked out. The drive to the Bar Harbor airport was long of course but the music on the radio made it go by faster. Once he got to the airport it was 10 AM so now Hank had 2 hours to get to his proper terminal and get on the plane. Sometimes that took him a long time, like the last time he was at an airport he got lost 30 minutes before his plane was supposed to leave so he picked up a ride on one of the go-cart things that drive constantly through the airport. This time he had got to the airport early because that was a somewhat traumatizing experience and he didn't want to go through it again. He walked to his terminal by following the signs that pointed people in the right direction as if you wear driving. He got to his plane with an hour left until boarding started and sat down in one of the only open chairs and relaxed. Soon he was awoken by the loud noises of people moving and a baby screaming somewhere, although that was not uncommon for an airport or an airplane. The person on the speaker that was playing In his terminal was listing the boarding order and Hank got up as he heard his seat row called and got in line with some families and an overweight who was trying to stuff a large number of snacks into side pockets of his backpack before he got to the gate.
