He offered me a walk
Not a long one, just time to talk.
He wanted to see me smile, but had no intention to stalk
I agreed, because silence was like nails on a board of chalk.

he began pulling out jokes like a clown
Because he was tired of seeing me frown
And so he turned it upside-down.

Making but a sound
We had no real plans
Besides walking around, holding hands.

As he escorted me around the busy streets,
I shivered as the thought of my warm sheets,
Maybe him next to me, maybe just some feats.

I brought you out here to see you smile, he said,
Because otherwise my heart would've ached for miles
All the while,
You'd miss my warm hand in yours.

And all I could do was nod
