class conference calls

CLASS CONFERENCE CALLS
AKA "ZOOM"

     You guys — I had my first "Zoom" (technically I use Blackboard Collaborative, so it's not Zoom) class today for Human A&P lecture, and I could NOT stop laughing. Our normal class times are Mondays and Wednesdays at 03:35-4:50pm. I could choose earlier times, but waking up and I don't go along very well (so I made sure my earliest class of the day is at 10:50am). I value my sleep very very much :)

     Anyways, so I was working out and watching a drama from 12:50 to like almost 3:00 when I almost forgot about my class meeting. And so I hurriedly take a shower and stuff, and then FaceTime my friend Gracie whom I share that class with. And so we're on FT while we get on the class call and wait for our professor.

     Mind you, we both have the hardest times controlling our laughter in serious moments. (But then again, don't we all?)

     So my professor finally joins the call, and there's like 20 something of us in there. And we spent the first thirty or so minutes of the following:

     1. Prof: Hello? Can anyone hear me? Hello? HELLO? HI?"

     2. Microphones turning on and off and saying hello and disappearing in fits of stifled giggles.

     3. Leading to my professor randomly calling out names and going "Hello, ___", "Oh, wait, __ is that you?", "I'm so confused who's talking and who's not."

     4. This girl who can NOT hear a single thing, and so had to leave and come back so many times that her name now had a (#7) beside it to indicate the number of remakes for a username.

     5. Gracie and I laughing nonstop while constantly asking each other "omg is my mic turned on? can you hear me?" Just to make sure our professor can't hear us.

     6. Kids typing "Yes, I can hear you" and "No, I can't hear anything"

     And then finally, our professor got tired saying hello, can you hear me? for half an hour and eventually started talking about plans for the rest of the sem and then started taking attendance lol

     BUT THE BEST PART WAS THAT ONE MOMENT WHEN SOMEONE ASKED ABOUT HOLIDAYS.

     AND MY PROFESSOR ASKS IN ALL SERIOUSNESS.

     "Is April Fool's Day a national holiday?"

     And I just totally lost it.
