IF TESSA WERE A DEATH EATER

Okay so I had this sudden idea in my head and thought: omg what if Tessa was born in a Death Eater family where her allegiance was to Voldemort, but her stubbornness and fiery attitude never changed — how would shit go down between the two of them?

And also because I have separation issues with my characters, I give you a small prompt with Tessa Valentine (not Potter bc lol obviously). Please indulge me for a moment with another of my crackhead thoughts.

Warning: will hold a little bit of crude language, but just a tad bit. After all, this is Dark!Tessa.

NOBODY WAS SURPRISED TO SEE TESSA WALK IN THE MEETING LATE. She's never been a morning person, and preferred to carry out the Dark Lord's commands at night where she found solace in the blinking lights in the sky. Waking up has never been her forte, and today was no exception as she lazily strolled inside the Malfoys' dining room they'd used for rendezvous.

"Late again, are we, Valentine?" the pale man with long blond hair sneered at her, trying to appear as the goody two shoes he attempts so desperately to be in front of his master.

Tessa merely arched a haughty eyebrow right back at him and crooned, "Scheduling meetings at ungodly hours again, are we, Malfoy?" She clicked her tongue in faux disappointment, pulling her chair out and lounging on it as though it were her own armchair.

Lucius's lip curled at her as he snarled, "You're in my house, show some respect — "

"Lucius," Voldemort softly called out reprovingly, his voice laced in a deadly venom that dared his follower to disobey. "Don't start."

"Yes, Lucius," Tessa taunted, drumming her fingers against the mahogany table and letting her nails click rhythmically. "You mustn't talk that way to your superior."

Lucius's nostrils flared lividly but he clamped his mouth shut and stayed quiet. She met Draco's eyes across the table, taking note of the smirk playing on his lips and she winked brazenly at him. You cruel thing, his eyes seemed to say to her.

Being Lord Voldemort's most trusted follower and his soldier as second-in-command, Tessa Valentine walked and talked like the world revolved around her. Every single Death Eater in this room sans Draco Malfoy loathed her for thinking she's the shit, and it's only because the two youngest members were secretly fucking behind their backs.

They weren't in a relationship or anything, but they were rather exclusive and only had eyes for each other. Before she'd gotten into this business, Tessa had promised herself nobody and nothing would come in her way between her rank of power. But one look into those silver eyes of his, hearing that sensual purr and the feel of his fingers on her skin — she realized that perhaps her iron heart had a chink of weakness for Draco Malfoy. It unnerved her greatly to think about it.

"Shall we begin today's meeting or did you summon me here today pointlessly, Lucius?" Voldemort questioned, an edge to his voice.

"Yes, right away, my lord," Lucius responded immediately and began to open his discussion.

The rendezvous lasted longer than Tessa would have liked it to be. It dragged on and on, that she'd fallen asleep on her hand propped on the table. She woke up when she heard chair scraping against the floor as the other Death Eaters began to leave. She stayed in her seat, chin still on her hand with her eyes closed.

"Valentine," Voldemort started, "I need you to bring Potter to me — "

"Get him yourself," she interrupted in a tired mumble, yawning as she stretched her limbs high above her head. She opened her eyes to meet with the Dark Lord's red ones. "You made me spend the whole night last night tailing him and then finish up that potion which you wanted to use to revamp your Death Eaters." She let out a puff of breath, rolling her sore shoulders. "I'm knackered, mate."

"Did — " he stammered, "did you just call me — "

Tessa pushed herself up to her feet, using two fingers to mock salute him as she said, "I'd love to stay and chat evil things, but I really need my sleep if you want me to spy Potter all night again. Good day, my lord."

Voldemort could say nothing as she strutted out of the room — not when she was the only one with powers greater than any other Death Eater in this room. A power magnificent enough to challenge his — he wasn't foolish to oppose that.

"You know, you could get in trouble for that tongue of yours," crooned a deep voice from outside of the door she'd clicked shut behind her.

Tessa cocked her head to regard Draco who was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. Her lips tugged up to a grin as she said, "You and I both know very well that's never going to happen. Let's be real — I could fucking annihilate the whole room in a heartbeat."

Draco raised an eyebrow, pushing himself off the wall as he slowly walked to her until he stood directly before her. The lack of space between them made her dizzy as a fresh wave of desire washed over her. He traced the curve of her lips with a thumb, his eyes darkening as he murmured, "Such foul words from a pretty mouth."

Tessa gently bit the tip of his thumb, flickering her eyes up to lock with his as she purred, "This pretty mouth has an hour to spare before returning home to catch up on sleep."

"Oh?" Draco slid a hand around her waist, resting his palm on the small of her back as he drew her closer to him. He dipped his head down to brush his lips over her neck. "What did you have in mind?"

"Take me to your room and maybe you'll find out," she said breathlessly, eyes fluttering shut.

"How much time did you say you had?"

"An hour," she whispered, a soft gasp escaping her when he continued to mark love bites down her neck and to the crevice of her shoulder.

"Make that two hours," Draco compromised, hooking his strong arms under her thighs and lifting her up as he Apparated them both to his bedroom.
