05/24 - Monday

Dear Diary,

Today was okay. Same as any other day. I painted my neighbor's house, Mrs. Malkovich. Her husband died last September and I've felt a need to help her with things. She says her son is coming soon but I bet I'll she'll still need me sometimes. I really enjoy helping her out. My mom had left when I was little leaving me with my drunk of a father, and so I never had a woman in the house that wasn't one of my dad's flings. After helping out Mrs. Malkovich for the last 8 months, she's turned into that figure. She told me I was like the daughter she never got to have.

05/25 - Tuesday

Dear Diary,

My dad called me this morning. He told me he needed some money because he sent 1700 dollars to some catfish in Spain. They were supposed to get married, something like on that 90 Day Fiance show. I told him I couldn't spare that much money right now, so he won't be calling me until the next time he needs something.

05/26 - Wednesday

Dear Diary,

Mrs. Malkovich's son came today. And let me just say, his face was looking pretty darn good looking from where I was standing. His name is Alex and he's a teacher who lives in Ireland where his father was from. We painted his mom's fence and it was such fun talking to him. He said he'd love to do it again.

05/27 - Thursday

Dear Diary,

Alex asked me out to the tea shop for later today! I'm more than excited. I don't know if he was following up on how he said he wanted to keep talking from yesterday, or if he was asking me on a date. I put on black jeans, a pretty green top, and some high-heels boots. Perfect for a date or a casual meet-up.

05/28 - Friday

Dear Diary,

I did nothing today, so I'll tell you about yesterday. I had a lot of fun with Alex. We hung out for 3 hours and then went back and watched a Hallmark movie with Mrs. Malkovich. He said we should go out again on Tuesday so I'm excited about that. I really like my job as a painter, just because it's simple and pays a decent amount, but Mrs. Malkovich asked me to be her care-taker. She didn't tell me what my pay would be, but it's okay. I think I'm going to accept no matter what. Not only because I absolutely love her, but also because I want to love Alex.

05/29 - Saturday

Dear Diary,

I started as Mrs. Molkovich's official care-taker today. She is paying me more than I made as I painter, but I don't think its fair, especially because I'm not even full time. I can't believe I even thought about wanting to love Alex. And just yesterday too! He can be so arrogant and rude to people. One of our other neighbors, Mr. Jude, has a puppy who peed on Mrs. Malkovich's lawn. Instead of the normal response of not responding to all or just telling him it was fine, he freaked out on him. He told him how disgusting he and his dog were and how stupid to let the dog pee on somebody else's lawn when he only had to walk 3 houses down to get to his. Mrs. Malkovich called him later and assured him it was perfectly fine and that she would love for him and his dog, Kody, to come over sometime. Now I'm completely re-thinking Tuesday. I don't want to love or even like a person that can be so cruel over nothing.

05/30 - Sunday

Dear Diary,

I drove Mrs. Malkovixh to her Catholic church today and sat with her. I had never been to that church, as I am more of a 'lenient' Christian than a strict Catholic. I could tell Mrs. Malkovich wasn't that strict about it either. Alex decided that he would rather not come with us so he stayed behind at their house. I just wish I didn't want him to come so badly. And I hope that he forgets about Tuesday, even though I'll be disappointed. But I shouldn't be.
