PART TWO
Silk moved swiftly the moment he saw Nickel move, grabbing his master by the waist and snaring the new servant’s wrist so the former wouldn’t get hurt, and the latter get in the way. Nickel, gritting his teeth, stretched his arms sideward. Two double-bladed daggers sprung out of his sleeves. He crouched in his toes and then jumped straight towards the culprit for his master’s tears.
Linus, seeing the attack, waved a hand from his left to right with his palm down, creating a shield just enough for himself. Nickel’s blades made contact, but didn’t leave a single crack on Linus’ defense. The former stepped back, seething, especially when Linus sneered at him.
Frost, not even moving from where he was standing, blew a silent whistle.
Suddenly, Linus’ barrier turned ice, starting from the bottom all the way up. Nobody noticed Theo moving, not until he punched the now solidified shield. It immediately shattered into pieces, disappearing as it disintegrated.
“Zero, stop your slaves!” Linus shrieked, now actually scared that he no longer had any protection. Where was his guards?!
No one complied to what he said. He tried building up another wall of defense, but another attack was already coming onto him.
Finny was hunched down in all fours, growling with his teeth bared like a rabid hound. He ran to Linus’ using the table, arms extended. His claws, which weren’t existent before, were sharp, shiny and pointed. Although, before he made contact to the now cowering Linus, the latter disappeared into thin air.
“He teleported? The coward…” Erioll grumbled. The rest of them were statued to where they were standing, cautious of the kid in all fours who was frantically searching for his prey.
‘Enough,’ Zero thought. He freed himself from Onyx’s hold and trotted to where he was seated before his brother came. He sat, straightened his clothes, and then held out his hand. “Finny, come here…”
Finny froze, his eyes still searching for something, someone, until they landed on his master. They widened, seemingly realizing what he had done, and he whimpered. He slowly made his way towards his master’s loving and accepting arms, still in his toes and fingers. He climbed up to Zero’s lap and curled there, like a child he originally was.
Zero could only look at the kid in his lap with saddened eyes. Finny was a good boy; just unable to control the beast in him at times. Zero ran his fingers through Finny’s hair until the latter visibly calmed down and closed his eyes, about to fall asleep fast. Why, because his master’s touch was heaven for him.
The other eight calmed themselves to not bother their master anymore, knowing exactly that Zero had his fair share of trouble for the day. They started cleaning the broken plates, glasses, candle holders, ruined and scattered food on the floor, cutleries that flew to every direction of the room, that were all remnants of Finny’s havoc.
A figure was simply observing everything at the far corner of the kitchen in silence. ‘Was everyone in this house, aside from me, crazy?’ he thought. It was understandable for him to think that though. After all, the boy was human. And the fact that because of Erioll’s hold of him earlier, he wasn’t able to see much of what happened. He was only released when it ended, thus making him entirely clueless.
Once Zero was sure Finny was asleep, he requested Seth to carry him to his room. He then stood up, now motioning a hand to his new servant to follow him. Before completely exiting the kitchen though, he told Twist to bring them tea in the library, where they were headed. He composed himself on their way, pushing everything that happened to the back of his mind.
