Gray x Lucy fanfic

First impressions

"GRAY, WHERE ARE YOUR CLOTHES?!" Erza commanded. "Huh?!" Gray said surprisingly as he looked down at his body. "Erza, there's no time for clothes when this dragon faced loser is trying to pick a fight with me." He scowled as he was in a ready fight stance in front of Natsu. "Look, I can't fight you inside the guild and you really need to put your clothes on. We have a new recruit here." Natsu responded as he pointed towards Lucy, the cute blonde haired girl with big brown eyes. Shy and worried what was going to happen next, Lucy meekly waved hello to Gray and Erza.
"Umm, Natsu is it always like this here?" The blonde beauty asked concerned. Embarrassed, Gray's face turned beet red and tried to run in the other direction when he felt a forceful hand on his shoulder. It was Erza trying to force him to apologize for the trouble he was causing, "Look Gray, I don't know how many times I have to tell you to get along with Natsu!" "Well like I said, he started it!" Gray defensively responded. Not wanting to get Erza any more angry, the two men decided to shake hands. But in the middle of the handshake, Gray couldn't help but notice Lucy staring at him.
Wow, I usually don't get distracted easily by girls, but she's different. She's so pretty with her long blonde hair and her outfit is pretty cute too. I can definitely try to talk to her after this knucklehead leaves me alone to get to know her better. Since he was holding Natsu's hand for too long, Natsu decided to speak up, "Gray! You can let go of my hand now!" He snarled. "Oh my bad Dragonbreath I was distracted by....Lucy you said your name was right?" Gray responded while letting go of his hand and walking towards Lucy. "Is that how you greet all the new recruits?" Lucy said playfully giggling. Forgetting he was still only in his underwear, responded "Oh where are my manners?! I'm sorry, I'll be right back, wait right here ok?" Gray said as he ran towards his cubby at the guild with his extra clothes.
*Meanwhile while waiting for Gray*
What could that guy possibly want with me? Maybe he wants to make friends. I better be nice and not be choosers when it comes to friends since I don't have any right now. He was pretty cute though, even though I met him when he was still in his underwear. Lucy gently chuckled to herself and was waiting at the tables for Gray. And like he promised he arrived in his usual white shirt and pants. "So did you wait too long Lucy?" Gray asked. While looking up and captivated by his charming smile, Lucy said "No not at all. So I guess you don't get along with Natsu?" Thinking for the right words to say, he says "Well we grew up together. We should be closer but we really aren't. I also think it's because of our magic that also separates us." As he finished that sentence he sat across the table from Lucy and couldn't help notice she had some keys on her waist. Noticing that Gray was looking at her, Lucy started to blush a little bit but quickly cleared her throat and decided to ask him, "Oh well, I know Natsu is a fire wizard and what's your magic Gray?" "I'm an ice maker wizard. I can make almost anything out of my ice. Like this." He quickly made the Fairy Tail symbol in the palms of his hands. Intrigued, Lucy responded, "Wow that's so beautiful Gray! I wish I had impressive magic like that but I'm just a celestial spirit wizard." She meekly responded.
Now it makes sense! She's a celestial spirit wizard. That's explains why she has so many keys. I can't blow this. I need to keep my cool as always.
"I think it's intriguing Lucy." Gray responded with a smile.
He's an ice wizard and he's really cute! Wow I'm really going to like it here at Fairy Tail. Oh no! I better go back to my place and unpack. With a concerned look on her face she tells the ice wizard, "I'm so sorry Gray! It was really nice meeting you but I have to go back to my apartment and unpack." As she got up and was about to leave, Gray couldn't help but grab her hand and as she turned towards him he said, "It's okay Lucy. But I'm sorry if this is too forward but can I get your phone number? So that way in case you need something you can get ahold of me." Gray said hopeful. Shocked at his request she pulled her hand away and grabbed her phone that was in her pocket and handed it to him. "Here put your number in. I appreciate you being so nice to me." Lucy said gratefully. As he put his info in her phone he replied, "of course, you can always count on me." The pair waved their goodbyes to one another and Lucy raced towards her apartment.
I never actually got a guys number before. I'm a little nervous. He is very charming and can hold a decent conversation, but I wonder if he's talking to me because of my chest size or because he's actually interested in me?
Lucy thought to herself as she unlocked her front door and walked inside her new quaint apartment. As she got ready for bed she couldn't really sleep and then realized that she never gave Gray her phone number. "Oh! I better text him and let him know I finally made it home." She said aloud.
Lucy: "Hey Gray, it's Lucy."
Gray: "I was wondering if I scared you off. Haha"
Lucy:"No not at all. I'm sorry I had to take care of some things in the house."
Gray: "Well it's getting late you should probably be in bed by now. See you tomorrow."
As she looked at that last text he sent she couldn't help but get butterflies in her stomach.
What's this feeling? Why am I getting so giddy about seeing him again tomorrow. Oh well I better go to bed now.
