CHAPTER 4 ACT II: PRACTICE, PRACTICE, AND MORE PRACTICE:

Kanna awoke to a loud knock on her door. Looking at her phone on her nightstand she realized it was 10 in the morning. Groaning she got up and took a quick shower and got ready for the day. Walking into the kitchen she noticed a stranger sitting in the living room with the kid from last night, but Nova was nowhere to be found. "Um... Who are you and what are you doing with the unicorn?" Eri giggled at the nickname Kanna gave her.

"This is Caterina! She's helping me with the play I'm in. Do you want to help?" Kanna stared at Caterina and Eri. "I'm not much of an actress, I'm more of a doctor but if you guys want, I can make waffles?" Caterina spoke for the first time. "That sounds great thank you!" She quickly found the ingredients and fetched the waffle maker from one of the cabinets. As she whisked the batter that she held in a clear glass bowl she heard the door open. "I'm back!" the sound of her roommate's voice hit her ears. "Yo shorty you want waffles?" Nova agreed and placed her bags on the small dining table across from the kitchen.

"So, uh where'd you meet the theater chick?" Nova turned to face her roommate who was already staring at her. "She's Shinso's friend. He got her to help Eri with her play, so I invited her over early today because Aizawa is picking her up after he finishes his meetings at U.A."

Kanna went back to making the waffles while Nova put the few groceries she purchased away. Caterina walked in with Eri and the small child excitedly talked about how she knew most of her lines in only an hour. "Nova! I know my most important lines already! Caterina is a great teacher!"

The short brunette smiled at her "That's great Eri! Now, do you want strawberries or blueberries on your waffles?" The little girl excitedly asked for both. "What about you Caterina?" "I'll take both as well. Thanks." The four girls sat at the table and ate silently until Caterina spoke. "I'm sorry Kanna but you look familiar." The gray-eyed girl sighed. "Kamui Woods and Mount Lady's wedding. I was the maid of honor. My face was plastered all over the media in that stupid dress Yu picked out but of course what Yu wants Yu gets." Caterina still confused looked towards Nova.

"Kanna is Mount Lady's cousin. They're practically sisters." Kanna rolled her eyes "Not since she's dated that piece of shrubbery. You know we use to have movie nights every Friday and now I sulk on the couch while Yu goes on dates with Shinji. They're fuc-freaking married can't she just spend one night a week with her cousin? The answer is apparently not. You know she told me she was pregnant that's why she hasn't been fighting crime lately. She told Niko before me. Niko!" Kanna angrily stuffed waffles into her mouth while Nova explained to Caterina that Niko was Yu's sister in law who didn't even go to Shinji's wedding because she didn't originally support the relationship.

"I take it you need a boyfriend Kanna." The angry girl shook her head at Caterina. "Hell no, Nova needs to get one first. She hasn't even gone out with a guy ever since Shindo left for the states." Nova smacked her roommate in the arm, and they began to argue about her love life or in this case the lack thereof. Eri smiled and looked towards Caterina.

"You know Hitoshi hasn't had a girlfriend in a long time either. The last good one was probably before he got into the hero course." Nova's cheeks turned a very slight pink shade. "So, your brother's a hottie or like average what are we talking here?" Eri giggled. "Well the older sisters at my theater class love when Hitoshi picks me up and they don't really like Nova." The girl's nanny's eyes widened, "what? I thought they loved me! They even invited me to sit with them, but they did ask me about Shinso the whole time..."

Caterina and Kanna laughed at the girl sitting next to them "Dude they think you're shacking up with your boss!" Nova's face reddened once again. "I'm not! He's just- we're just. Ugh, you guys are terrible friends." Eri went to her backpack and pulled out a little wallet. "Here Kanna this is a picture from when Oshi graduated U.A" The girl took the picture from Eri's little hands. As she scanned the photo. They heard a knock at the door and Kanna got up still with the photo in her hand. As she walked to the door, she spoke
