Unfortunately I wasn't granted a swift death. I felt my chest rise with every low breath and heard the thumping of my heart. Telling signs that I could live to see another day.

As soon as I tried to open my eyes I quickly shut them. Jesus Christ that light is bright! I let out a small groan. My throat is dryer than the desert and my body feels like it got hit by a freight train. I'd rather be dead honestly.

Cautiously I open my eyes again, the blinding light dimming as my eyes readjust. Looking at my surroundings I could tell I was in some sort of an infirmary. The room was small and there was only one other hospital bed besides the one I was residing in currently. Taking in all my injuries, I let out a tired sigh.

"Oh Skye look where you've gotten yourself" I tell myself remorsefully.

I was still in the same clothes thankfully. My left thigh bandaged tight but I could see blood slowly seeping through the cloth. My right arm is in a black sling, hanging so limply that I'm afraid to move it. As I try to sit up on the bed the pain from my ribs kick me back. I must've broke a few on my tumble.

I had to get out of here. I can't waste precious time by being a sitting duck. If they could find me halfway across the country, they could certainly find me here. Wherever 'here' is. Mustering up enough strength I sit up and flip my legs over the side of the bed. I hold in an anguished groan as I stand up and rip the IV out of my left arm.

Ignoring my body screaming at me to get back in that bed, I limp quietly to the door on the left side of the room. The door is opened slowly as I peek my head out to make sure the coast is clear. I'm shocked to find a dark and empty hallway. The dark hues of the hallway contrasting against the bright white of the room I was standing in. Alarms went off in my head. Where the fuck was I?

Trying not to make a sound I slowly slip out of the room and let the door shut with a quiet click. I stopped at the end of the hall, waiting for any sound. I was met with silence thankfully. Wasting no time I take another hall to the right hoping this was the right direction.

Papers and pictures lined the walls but I paid no mind.

"Hey!" someone called out behind me.

Shit Shit Shit Shit Shit Shit Shit

Without looking back I start running as fast as I could with my bum leg. The wound feels on fire but I try to numb myself to the pain. Something I've gotten good at.

I take a few more turns until I'm in some sort of a common area. I see a few couches and bar on the left with a pool table next to it. Something far more important grabbed my attention. The front doors.

I hear the yelling behind me continue and heavy footsteps bounding down the hallway. I grab an empty bottle of booze while I make my way to the door. I will fight my way out of here if I fucking have to.

The front door swings open suddenly, knocking me off balance. But before I could fall I feel two arms grab me hastily and set me upright. Without warning I swing the bottle as hard as I could, hitting them right in the side of the head. The body drops to the floor and I once again make a dash for the door.

"Grab her Bobby!" the voice behind me yells.

I see a heavy set man heading my way but I easily dodge him. Out of my peripheral view I see bikes lined up and multiple people hanging around them. Realization crosses my mind. This is the last place I wanted to end up. It's going to be harder than I thought.

Just before I could make it out of the chainlink fence in front of me a body crashes into my right side. I hit the dirt rather hard and feel the body land on top of my arm.

Great. My right arm is probably more broken than it was earlier.

"Jesus Woods I didn't say go hulk on her. You probably hurt the poor girl more!" the voice above me laughs and hauls the man named Woods off me.

I reopen my eyes to see two men hovering over me like I'm some mythical creature. The one on the left a bit older with dark hair and a beard that's graying. The man beside him was much younger. A lot more attractive too. Dark curls hang around his light eyes. Eyes that held a glint of mischief in them.

"Sorry sweetheart, this idiot didn't mean to break you. We just can't have you running around crazy like." the older man says with an apologetic look. So the man to the right was Woods.

    "Yeah sorry sweetheart I-"

Woods is cut off when I sweep my left leg under his, making him hit the dirt beside me with a loud thud. I grit my teeth while I hold my injured leg. Wasn't the smartest idea but was well worth it. The old man laughs above me and holds out a hand to help me up. He swings an arm around my shoulder and holds me tight so I wouldn't fall over. As we walk back to the dark doors I hear Woods mumble a quick guess I deserved that.

"The names Abel sweetheart." The old man says while walking me back to the infirmary. The man I hit with the bottle is nowhere to be seen.

Dammit. I almost made it out. Realistically I didn't have a plan after I made it out of this place but I'm used to figuring things out on the way. This will definitely be harder than I thought.
