You huffed as your call to Sam went to voicemail once again. There was a huge storm brewing outside and you didn't want him to be caught in it driving home from work, but also, you didn't want to be alone.

You let out a sigh as you heard the rain slowly picking up pace as it hit the windows. You walked over, pushing the curtains out of your way to look outside. Thunder clapped causing you to jump back from the window, allowing the curtains to fall back into place. The front door opened and Sam's voice called for you.

"Why didn't you answer the phone?" You asked as you walked into the living room. He walked up to you, pulling you to him and kissing your forehead.

"My phone died. I charged it in the car, but it just came back on as I was pulling in. I'm sorry, love." He kissed your forehead again before letting you go, grabbing the shopping bag he had sat on the couch, "I bought you some things." He handed you the bag, gesturing for you to open it. Inside there were your favorite chocolates, comfy socks with a funny print on them, and the new movie you've been dying to see. You looked up, smiling warmly at him.

"I got the weather warning as I was packing up to leave set so I swung by the store. Figured we could put the movie on and turn it up loud enough to drown out the thunder."

He motioned for you to sit on the couch as he took a seat on the coffee table in front of you. He took the bag from your hands, grabbing the socks out and ripping off the tags. He reached for your leg, pulling it up so that your foot sat on his lap, pulling off the socks you were already wearing. He grabbed on the new ones, slipping it onto your foot before grabbing your other leg and doing the same. He stood up, grabbing a blanket from the other end of the couch, throwing it over you. He made sure you were all snug before turning to put the movie in.

"It's getting bad out there, Sammy." You said watching as the rain picked up even more and the lightning flashing across the sky. Sam walked over to the window, closing the curtains so you couldn't see outside. He made his way back over to the couch, watching as you jumped when thunder clapped loudly.

"It's okay, love. I'm right here." He said as he sat next to you. He moved the blanket so you could snuggle into his side. Placing the blanket back over the two of you once you were all settled in. Arms wrapped securely around you. He pressed play on the remote, turning the volume up loud enough to distract you but not loud enough to have the neighbors complain. He reached into the bag, grabbing the chocolate and unwrapped it. He held it in front of your face waiting for you to take a bite before taking a bite himself. You looked up at him, puckering your lips for a kiss. He chuckled softly, leaning down to kiss you lovingly. You jumped away from the kiss as more thunder shook the apartment. Sam was quick to react, grabbing your face in his hand and pulling you back in for another kiss.

"How did you ever survive storms without me?" He joked when he pulled away.

"Headphones and loud music." You laughed, "now be quiet, the movies starting."
