Ginny's explanation and a suprise

Hermione woke up in a bright, almost cream room.

"Hello, is anyone there?" She spun around, searching for anything to help her.

<Beaver please wake up. Blaise is so worried. Potter and she-weasel are too. Please, they're driving me insane>

"Draco! Where are you?" But he was gone. Hermione sunk to the floor in despair and sobbed until she fell asleep.

<Hey sis, um Draco said that talking to you helped so, uh, here I am. Please wake up, Harry won't sleep at all, and Draco finally came out of here. Hermione, please wake up, I've just found you. I can't lose you again.>

Hermione blinked.

{why weren't they sleeping?}

{Where was she?}

{Why did she need to wake up?}

Draco sat in Hermione's room, sitting near her bed, whispering nonsense into the quiet dark room. Blaise, Harry, and Ginny stood by the door watching. They softly shut the door, leaving Draco in the tomb-like room, and walked down the hall.

"Why's Draco so upset again?"

Harry and Ginny looked at each other, "you've heard of that patronus soulmate thing right?"

Blaise nodded. "Yeah um, I've heard of it before but what does that have to do with Draco and Hermione?"

Harry shook his head. "Gin, please explain this. I'm way too tired to deal with this."

Ginny took a deep breath. "Okay, My Patronus is an owl And so is Harry's. Draco's is a phoenix, Hermione's has changed. When we first conjured them in the DA, hers was a phoenix. Then when she started dating Ronald and moved in with him, it changed to an otter,"

Blaise looked lost, "but I thought weaslebee's was a terrier or something"

"It is, that was the first sign. Then we started to see changes in Hermione, things that were odd, she became withdrawn, spaced out often, and flinched away from physical contact. That's when we took her to Lavender,"

"Lavender Brown? The same one from Hogwarts? Wasn't she like Ronald's ex or something?"

"Yep! She works at St. Mungo's. She was happy to help and did some tests, even drawing her blood. I'm quite sure you know the next bit."

"Lavender found traces of Zabini DNA in Hermione's blood, and contacted me."

"She also found something else. There were traces of Amortentia in her system. There was nothing we could do. Ron was with us, and we had no idea what he would do. The potion explains why her patronus changed."

Harry jumped in, "Zabini, a patronus such as Hermione's is rare. The only other person we know of to have a phoenix patronus is Dumbledore."

The sound of someone Apparating startled the three adults. Blaise facepalmed. "Shoot. I invited Theodore, Pansy and Luna over. I hope you don't mind."

Ginny smiled. "Not at all! I haven't seen Luna in ages and I suppose I should get to know Hermione's slytherin friends better, seeing as we'll be spending quite some time with all of you."

Blaise's shoulders relaxed. "Well then, Shall we greet our guests?"

"That's awful!" Pansy gasped, as Blaise finished recapping what had happened to Hermione. "What about Weasley? Surely he'll go to Azkaban, right?"

Harry sighed. "No, He's a war hero. Kingsley won't put him in Azkaban for the fear of public outrage, not to mention he can blame the outbursts on PTSD and medication. We haven't gotten any real evidence. Until we have a way to prove to every one that Ronald truly was an abusive arse, he's a free man."

Pansy was beet red. "This is outrageous! He abused and drugged Hermione, and you're telling me Kingsley won't put that bloody jerk in Azkaban! We have evidence, throw him under Veritaserum!"

Blaise shook his head. "Veritaserum can be resisted or uncredible. It forces the drinker to spill their beliefs or what they believe to be true."

Pansy sunk into her chair. Luna, who had been making a blanket, crossed over and sat next to Pansy. "Ginny? Where's Draco? I would think he would be here. Unless the nargles got him."

Ginny shook her head at the nature of her friend. "No, actually I don't believe he's left Miones side."

Pansy shook her head. "That man will be the death of us all."
