All the days of my life
Behind the shadows
Covered in darkness
Discovered by no one
Empty and hungry inside the shadows
Food does not touch my lips
Grit and grime
Hang on to my skin
I find that I am worthless to most
Joints popping in the cold
Keeping hidden away in the shadows
Love evades me
Moments pass by
No one cares for me
Only walks past
Plundering on through the city streets
Quietly passing by
Remembering their family, friends, and food
Silently judging the poor and homeless
Too many ignore me
Underfed, skinny girl in the shadows
Vacationers and natives alike
Walk past the girl in the shadows
'X' me out of their minds
Young girl in the shadows
Zigzag through the streets so that they don't see the girl in the shadows.
