Meeting the One and Only (I Swear, I won't Tell A Soul)

Ayame woke up with a slight groan. Ow...My....head.......

She gasped and sat up. Sitting not too far from her was....

"Are you alright?" He asked.

"H-h-h-how a-a-a-a-a....." Her eyes were wide. She tried to speak but couldn't manage. 

"I know what you're thinking." He sighed. "I know you're probably wondering why I'm here and how I'm here. I came here only to see what was going on in the village as part of a mission. I am sorry I frightened you." A blush crept onto his face. "And that I fell on you."

She smiled. "T-that's alright, I'm used to it." Her face turned bright red. "N-no that's not what I meant to say!"

He chuckled, then his face went serious again. "So, are you new to the village? Nothing about you seems familiar."

Ayame smiled, recovering from what she'd just said. "I-I am kind of new actually.....I j-just arrived not too long ago."

"Then how is it you know me?" His eyes narrowed. "Only people of my generation should know me."

"I...." Panic slightly hit her. "Lord Hokage mentioned you once, and I-I saw a p-picture of you too." She stuttered.

"Oh, I see." He looked genuinely surprised. 

Shikamaru's call sounded from across the lake. "Hey!"

He stood up. "I should go now, it was nice to meet you." He smiled. 

Ayame smiled back. "It was a pleasure."

"Thank you, Ayame." He turned away. "We'll meet again some day, trust me."

Ayame nodded, suddenly feeling sleepy. She fell onto the ground, and everything blurred out to black.

She awoke on her futon in Shikamaru's room.

Ayame stretched and sat up, then walked over to her friend's bed. It was empty.

She looked about. "Shika?" Hmm, maybe he's at class. She thought, remembering he was still at the academy.

Ayame dressed for the day, not forgetting her ninja gear. She slid open the door to the bedroom.

"I guess nobody's here today." She murmured, walking to the door. She slipped on her shoes and went outside. 

It was very bright outside, she winced. It never looked this bright in the Anime.

She walked through the Village, slightly in a daze. I can't believe I saw who I saw, it wasn't real was it? It was completely out of the plot, what would it mean to see him now?

She couldn't forget the way he smiled at her, or his eyes, how beautiful they were. 

She couldn't stop thinking about the sound of her name on his lips.

Wait. Her name? 

When did she tell him her name?

Shikamaru? No, he hadn't called her by her name when he'd yelled. 

Then how?

She felt someone slam into her and she fell onto her butt. "Ow..." She mumbled, looking up.

"KAKASHI!" Ayame squeaked. "I mean sorry, and Hi I'm Ayame I hope you're my sensei bye!"
