Jacob

I rush over to the police station and see Jackson.

"Jacob, what are you doing here?" Jackson asks looking puzzled.

"I'm here to help, anyway I can. I know Amelie and I didn't end on the best of terms; I know I'm your prime suspect, I do care about her and I want to help. So, take my statement, take DNA take whatever you need, just let me help you find her," I plead desperately.

"Okay," he sighs, "let's go get your statement done."

"So, what do you want to know?"
"Where were you on the night of Amelie's disappearance?"
"I was at a bar...then all I remember is waking up in an alley."
"Okay, this is only going to work if you are honest with me. Maybe you're still using, maybe you needed money, her help? Kidnapped her and are holding her for ransom. You know how desperate Ethan is, would've payed all the money in the world to get her back."
"I'm being honest with you."
"Great, so, you're out prime suspect and you don't have a great alibi, that suggests a lot of red flags are pointing to you."
"I am innocent you gotta believe me, when she asked me to leave her alone I respected that, I loved Amelie. I would never hurt her, especially not for money." I say, and Jackson leaves the room

Jackson

I am going to go on a search to look for Amelie, great, her good for nothing ex-boyfriend is here to prove his innocence.

I talk to him for a bit before I exit the room and talk to Jane.

"Think we got enough to charge him?"
"No, but he looks good for it, he's acting nervous, guilty, his alibi isn't too strong either. He says he can't remember most of the night and remembers waking up in a back alley."
"Is it enough for a warrant?"
"I'd say so," I nod as Jane goes off to get a warrant ready. I walk back into the room.

"Alright, so we have nothing to charge you on. You can sign your statement and leave, but don't leave town," I say.

A half hour has passed and we have gone through all the suspects and we might have a lead. Jane comes back and gives me the warrant.

I hop in a squad car along with Jane and we race over to Jacobs house. I am panic stricken; I really hope she's here. I bang on the door.

"Police open up!" I call, a puzzled Jacob opens the door.

"What's going on?" he asks, I show him the warrant.

"We have a warrant to search your house, your work and your car," I reply, "would you mind stepping aside and letting us through?"

"I didn't do anything wrong!" Jacob protests

"We'll see about that," I say. "Step aside sir. Now!" Jacob hangs his head and steps aside letting the team go through. The house is a wreck, with beer bottles and clothes everywhere, not to mention it smelled like a meth-lab. We check the whole house, even the basement, no Amelie.

"Hey I think I found something!" Jane calls, I sprint outside to Jacobs car, the boot is open and there is blood in there. I take a sample, my heart drops. We take Jacob back in our squad car and to the station.

"I refuse to say anything until I talk to my sister," he says.

"You son of a bitch! My sister is missing! And you're making demands? Where is she! Where is Amelie!"

"Let me speak to my sister and I'll tell you what I know," he says, I slam my hand down on the table. Jane comes in with two guards who unhandcuff him.

"You're free to go," she states bluntly.

"Why is he free to go! He's as close as we've ever gotten to information on this case!" I exclaim.
