Lucy

"Who are you?"

Lucy stood stock-still in shock. She lost her grip on the scissors letting them clatter to the floor; she could hear them clanking on the ground, but the sound seemed so distant from her.

She knew that someone lived here, it was obvious by the mess, but what she expected that person to be like and what they did look like, were two different things.

He was tall, bold and pink haired.

What she was expecting was short, stubborn and grumpy. As she stood still, analyzing him, she noticed he was no longer looking at her. Instead, he was looking around the room as if in shock.

One question ran through her mind, in that moment...

'Why is he staring at the floor like that?'

He looked at the floor with an almost gaping expression. Eyes wide and mouth slightly parted, he look at the floor as if it was a new exciting object to discover.

She watched as he shook his head as if to shake off the daze he had been put in. She wanted to giggle in that moment, but held back at the reality of her situation.

She realized she still hadn't answered his question, but how could she? He was the first person she met since her decision to run, it was bound to make her hesitant to strangers.

She watched as his eyes narrowed into a glare.

The tufts of blonde hair at her feet provided her with a sort of comfort, but it still didn't protect her from his piercing gaze.

"Who are you?!" He repeated in a voice that seemed to echo in her mind even after he had stopped speaking. The way it was said seemed to carry a hidden message, as if he wouldn't  want to repeat himself once again.

The thought made her flinch as it reminded her too much of her father. He would only speak once or else.

With a thought like that, she realized she couldn't let this newcomer see her weak. She straightened her stance as best as she could and narrowed her eyes towards him, returning the stare he threw her way.

She scanned his stance checking for weak points in case he attacked her, but as she watched him she noticed him watching her... or observing her?

'Probably realizing how much of a mess I am.' She scoffed at her own thoughts and realized that she did look horrible.

Her hair was uneven due to her not completely cutting it. Half of her hair still sat past her knees,  while the other half sat at the middle of her back . Not to mention it was caked with mud, the same ugly brown color as her eyes. Her clothing was ripped and covered in dirt as well.

'I probably look like a monster.' She thought without care. Even if she did look like a monster it was not his place to look at her in such a judgmental way.

With new found confidence she answered the question that had been hung between them with a thick rope of tension supporting it.

"My name is Shirayuki." But just because she answered doesn't mean she had to be truthful.

She could hear his loud scoff of disbelief from across the room.

"Yeah and I'm Zen." He sneered at her. "Now I'm only going to say this once more before I do something I definitely won't regret." With each word he spoke he took a step towards her, emphasizing his point clearly.

Her back hit something solid, she hadn't even noticed that she had subconsciously been backing herself into a wall, both figuratively and literally. She could feel that she had been caged in.

Natsu

Natsu stared in bewilderment. "Who are you?" he repeated trying to sound more confident than before - before when he was too shocked to understand the situation.

There was a blonde girl in his house and his house looked... clean? Clean! His house? Was it his house in the first place? In all his years of living here he had only seen the floor once. Once!

'Is this what it looks like?' he thought before he shook his head, 'Wait, I'm getting off track.'

The girl didn't answer his question. She was silent the entire time Natsu was trying to get a grip on... this. Whatever this was. Natsu grew impatient at her inability to answer his question. His wide eyes narrowed into a glare as he had a clear look at her. Locks of golden hair had fallen on the floor and the scissor no longer gripped by her fingers.

"Who are you!?" he exclaimed. His voice boomed and shot out a message: 'Don't make me repeat myself.'

She flinched at his harsh voice. Her shoulders lifted up. The girl looked as if she remembered something terrible, but her eyes narrowed.

He couldn't tell what she was thinking scanning him with her dark cappuccino eyes. It wasn't the brightest of eyes, but it was a beautiful shade of brown. The girl who was practically bathed in dirt and was the total opposite of beautiful. She was a total mess. He almost raised an eyebrow when she unconsciously straightened herself with sudden confidence. "I'm," she finally spoke as her voice seemed that of a gentle one - again, nothing like how she looked comparing the two, "I'm Shirayuki!"

Natsu paused.

'Seriously?'

The young-looking man scoffed loudly. He couldn't believe this girl's nonsense. Did she think they were in some kind of fairy tale?

"Yeah, and I'm Zen," he remarked with a mocking smile and contemptuously at that. His smile disappeared being replaced with a scowl and dangerous, glaring eyes. "Now, I'm only going to say this once more before I do something I definitely won't regret." Natsu took a step at every word spoken. The pink haired male had no intention of ignoring this complete stranger in his house. It was invading, to say the least. Not to mention he had to go on a mission and this girl was a distraction - he had no patience for this!

The girl with unevenly cut hair had moved back until her back made contact with the wall. Cornered.

He mentally sighed. 'Come on,' he though, 'I can't waste anymore time.'

He needed to ask Happy to scout around to find that run-away princess or whatever she was. Natsu kept his serious expression constant, but one thing ran through his mind. 'Wait... where is Happy anyway?'

Meanwhile, somewhere a floating feline was making his way out of the forest. A river of tears ran down his fur-filled cheeks. "I can't believe Natsu kicked me out," he cried.
