Natsu
Despite it being small, Hargeon was a bustling town of friendly faces. Before Natsu had arrived, he met up with one if his acquaintances and he told him that there was a rumour going around that Salamander was in this town too. That meant someone was either using his name or it might've been his adoptive father. The latter sounded unconvincing, but he would take the small chances.
He loitered about, waiting for Happy to meet him. The blue cat had gone to search in the sky for a girl who fit the description.
He waited and mind you, he had a short amount of patience. His dreams would always haunt him when he stayed in one place too long. Shifting to different thoughts always distracted him from the past. But, in the moments when he stood idle with no distractions — like this — the things he didn't want to remember had reached out for him. Begging him to walk back to where he had walked away from.
The habit of moving place to place brought out this short temper he had when it came to waiting.
Fortunately, just the cat he was looking for reported back. He smiled. "Happy!" Natsu exclaimed, "Did you find her?"
"If you mean your type? Yes," Happy answered with pure amusement. Natsu sucked in a breath, "Okay, first, I'm glad you found her. Second."
He opened his eyes to glare at the blue furred exceed. "Would you drop that already!?" he shouted, making the nearby people glance at him. Natsu only heard his best friend snicker in response. It was easier to ignore him at this point, so Natsu done just that.
One would think with those looks he would be innocent; Happy was quite mature and had a twisted sense of humour at times. Another thing he liked was teasing, as one could see.
Natsu had just so happened to be Happy's target for the past few days — especially with the searching for a girlfriend topic.
"Whatever, just lead the way, so I can get this mission over with," he grumbled under his breath. Happy was able to hear it despite the inaudibility of his voice. Perks of having a cat's sense of hearing. Happy shook his head, floating effortlessly beside Natsu. "Okay, then, why are we looking for this girl if that's not the reason?" he inquired, finally humouring the child-like grumpy Natsu.
"A guy called me personally to request a mission to get his run-away daughter. I don't know exactly who he is, but apparently he owes me a favour."
"Wait, if he owes you a favour then why is he asking you this?" Natsu crossed his arms, his lips forming a frown as he shrugged, "I don't know."
"And since when do people owe you favours? You're not the most reliable guy, you know." Happy shook his head with a knowing smile.
A vein popped. "Okay, could you stop insulting me for the day!"
Natsu scowled, listening to Happy's laughter with quiet rage to the last point where his laughter faded. The laughter stopped and was replaced with the noise of crowds of girls squealing.
"Salamander!" Were the girl's shouts. The pair shared a look. Yup, definitely some guy using my nickname. Again, it was worth a try.
"Let's look, anyway. He might be using your name in a wrong way," Happy suggested, "And besides, the girl you're looking for is in that crowd."
Natsu groaned. Great. Just great. "Fine," he grumbled as pushed through the crowd, eyes scanning every person he saw. There was a familiar scent in the air, he swore! He tried pushing it to the back of his mind, but before he could figure out who the scent belonged to, he saw her.
The girl he was looking for, he assumed. She had short blonde hair, which seemed a little dull. Her eyes brown and she wore a simple frilly dress.
