"So, Naru-chan. Has there been any progress in your studying?"

I smiled up from his lap. Saru-jisan and I was in a Dango shop. We usually meet once a week, talking about what I have been doing. It's been pretty boring. So much that I wanted to start doing pranks like Naruto did, but I would wait until I reached 5. I need practise before I atempt what would be the impossible.

Saru-jisan knows that I'm reading fūinjutsu. He found out when he picked me up at the library. That he was surprised was a understatement, he completely didn't expect me to read about that. He probably guessed that I was looking at ninjutsu. Oh, I was. But not that much. And I've been subtly hinting at him to teach me a jutsu, preferably the Kage Bunshin. It never worked, he just couldn't get the hint!

So I would just-almost- flat out ask him.
"It's been going great! But so slow.. I want to make seals already!" I whined, and it was true. It wasn't like it was boring, it's just been so slow, and seal ideas has been popping up at my mind for awhile and I want to use it!

"I wish there was more of me so I could speed it up a notch!"

The older man only chuckled in amusement" More of you? There is one I know of if you want solid and memory.. but I dont think you're just ready to learn it just yet,"

I pouted, seriously? I had a pretty big chakra capacity even at this age and I couldn't learn it?" Why?" I whined.

"Because of your current chakra control, you would pretty much have made many more than you can handle and necessary and maybe die of chakra exhaustion, and besides; you would have abused it to the core."

Ah, the worst nightmare possible for ninjas with huge chakra, chakra control. I have close to zero chakra control and it was frustruating like hell.

"So give me chakra control exercises."

He 'humed' thoughfully" I dont know...why dont you just wait till the academy?"

I dont know if I should tell him about my chakra issue. It's not a big deal, exactly, but it's not normal so I would rather get rid of it, than face the accusing stares of the teachers.

"Saru-jisan...can people have purple chakra?" He gave me a surprised look at the change of subject. But still answered.
"I've never heard of purple chakra. The only chakra I know is common to have is blue. And in special cases, red."

Special Cases. Code Word; Jinchuriki. Got it.

"But my chakra is..purplish" his smile twitched, just a mini-second. So swiftly gone that I wouldn't have noticed it if I didn't expect it.

"Really?...can I see it?"

I nodded, showing him my palms and concentrating my chakra. He looked pretty intruged at the mix of purple and blue.

"..do you know where it comes from?" They're was something in his voice I couldn't deciper, but it wasn't such a good sign.

I shook my head. And he relaxed, I didn't notice he was tense. And I decided to do something only a genius could set together.

"Am I one of those special cases?" I asked innocently. Hiruzen visibly tensed, and coughed. He clearly didn't see that coming.

After his coughing subsided he turned to me."... Why would you think that?"

"Because if you mix blue with red," I gave him a grin, clearly proud of myself"you get purple, dattebayo." I clearly twisted his words. Who would have though a 3 year old girl would figure out half her secret in one sentence and with the key word; red. Clearly showing not to mess with kids.

Knowing he couldn't -or more like wouldn't- lie, he gave me a defeated sigh"....thats right,"
"Thats why the villagers dont like me?- it's pretty obvious, you know?" I added the last when Hiruzen gave me a fairly shocked look.

He brought his hat down to cover his eyes and looked away. To maybe hide his shame? Anger? Guiltyness?

What's with this depressing atmosphere?

I settled on clapping Saru-jisans shoulder." Dont worry! Like something like that is going to stop me. I'm going to be strong, get acknowledged by everyone, be the strongest living ninja in all existence.. A promise of a life time." My Inner Naruto appeared there, I know it. The words just spilled out of my mouth, like it was meant to be said. And it was.

I didn't wait to see Saru-jisans expression, I could feel it. I just thanked for the food and ran out of the shop, straight to the library. I have a promise to hold after all. My name is Uzumaki Naruto.

Man, this is going to be a long and troublesome journey.

After that talk with Saru-jisan, I was practically swimming through the books. It felt like a bucket with determination has been dumped on me.

That day I finished 5 books. Satisfied? Yes. Very, very much. The agonizing headach afterwards? No. Not at all.
