Josh's POV
I wait patiently for the interviewer to come. I sit in a room with a blinding light in my eyes and a camera pointed at me. I can't help but glance at it a few times, unsure what else to do. Usually I've got people around me, there to amuse until we start our interview. But I don't. Today's a rather empty interview, a few questions, honest answers. Promotion for my newest movie, Mockingjay Part 2. It comes out in about 4 days.
I wish Jennifer Lawrence, my best friend and co-star in the movie, was here. I have so much fun with her, feeling more comfortable. Then there's Liam Hemsworth, our best friend also. I think of them talking, so immersed in a conversation. They could be together right now whilst I'm stuck at this interview. I feel a slight frown come across my face. Jealousy? No. Something much different...
"Josh?" A voice snaps me back to reality. The interviewer sits across from me on a stool. She looks around 30 with lots of make-up. She gives me a stare of worry.
"Sorry." I say, laughing it off, but I can't get the feeling of loneliness off my shoulders. I don't feel the two of them at my sides. Emptiness.
"Hi? I'm Jane. I'm just going to ask you a few questions today, and no pressure. You must be missing the rest of your small group." She nods, referring to Jen and Liam. I give her a smile and agree.
"Yeah, it's pretty weird without the two knuckleheads, but I'm sure I'll be seeing them soon." I tell her, and she laughs.
"Of course. They're probably out hunting. Gale and Katniss, right?" Jane laughs hysterically like she's told the funniest joke ever. I let a smile cross my lips, but I couldn't care less about this irony.
"Anyway," Jane finally manages to calm down, "we have five questions here. A few were sent in by people and the rest are our own. First question was sent in by Dalek and it reads; what was your favourite scene to film from Mockingjay Part 2?"
"Oops, spoiler alert!" Jane adds, giggling.
"Yeah, I better be careful here." I laugh.
I think this over carefully, considering a few scenes. But I really only enjoyed the ones when I was with Jennifer. I finally decide on one.
"Well, there was this one scene. It was at the very end. Like, the epilogue. I was in this really beautiful meadow and it was a great day and flowers were blooming, and I was sitting with Jennifer in this long grass and the sun was shining. It wasn't like we were doing anything ridiculous, we just sat there and enjoyed the day. The scene was easy to film and, I won't spoil, but the whole scene really meant something for Peeta and Katniss. Yeah, it was great. Barely any cameras there either so it felt like some sort of holiday." I laughed, remembering it like yesterday.
Jane seemed interested in my story, and sat there staring at me. I nodded slowly and she finally straightened and smiled.
"Sounds...great." She daydreams.
"It was." I reply, looking at my hands. I'm going to miss making these movies so much.
"Um..anyway, the next question is from Lucy and she asks; how much do you hang out with Jen?"
I look at the interviewer to see if she's joking, but I see a small smile on her lips and she's ready to listen, so I clear my throat and think.
"That's a...very interesting question, Lucy. I suppose I see Jennifer a few times a month. It depends on where we are. Promotion is starting so I'm seeing her practically every day. I've gone quite a few months without seeing her in the past. But, you know, that's life. We're actors, we'll be moving a lot. She has people to see and I do as well." I say, my eyes adverting the interviewer's. Answering that felt uneasy.
