Crying had become a part of Pearl's daily routine. Wake Amethyst up, train, wash the dishes after Amethyst, tidy the house, make Amethyst lunch, run away and cry, make Amethyst dinner, train, make sure Amethyst comes home safely, run away and cry. At this point, it only seemed like normal to Pearl, but it still tore her heart every day. And she had a reason to cry.

She had fought fearlessly for her leader, her only goal in her existence was to make her happy. Giving up her own happiness seemed measly in comparison.

"Hey P? Hey? HEY?"

Pearl snapped out of her thoughts at Amethyst's possessive call

"Yes Amethyst? What is it?" She asked, trying to erase her thoughts, at least only for a few seconds.

"You've burnt the food again!"

Pearl sighed. She could add this to her daily routine too.

"Sorry." She mumbled, tossing the black pancake into the trash with a sigh. It was beyond saving, pure carbon and ash at this point. She sighed and started on another.

"You seem off P? What's the problem?" Amethyst asked in her direct manner.

"Oh, I'm fine, nothing you need to worry about!" She said, pulling a false smile on her lips.

The first half of that sentence was a pure and utter lie. She hadn't felt fine since six months ago...before Rose had met that horrible human.. Greg. Pearl hated him with a passion, for stealing the love of her life. Pearl sacrificed everything she ever had for Rose, and all Greg had to do was sing a song and give her a shirt to win over her heart. She flipped the pancake quickly, hearing a fizz from the oven, noticing a tear had fallen and hit the surface. She dried her eyes before Amethyst could notice and quickly composed herself before handing Amethyst her pancake.

After about four more, Pearl put the pan into the sink and left the kitchen in a hurry. Today was Saturday, meaning Rose would be out all day with Greg. She quickly opened the door of her room and walked though. After the door closed, she collapsed onto the floor, tears staining her cheeks. This was nothing new, she wouldn't be surprised the least if Garnet knew about her break downs.

Garnet. As much as she respected her, she couldn't look at her without feeling a wave of jealously and sadness. Garnet, Ruby and Saphirre. They were the perfect couple. The perfect relationship. They were so happy together. Pearl could only stare up at her ceiling and wish to ever have a loving and equal relationship.

"Sometimes." She whispered to herself, through her tears, "sometimes I wish I had been shattered during the war. It would have been much less painful than this."

"Less painful than what?" Asked Amethyst. Pearl had no idea how she got in, but she felt angry and even more hurt that her small area of privacy had been invaded.

"GET OUT!" Pearl shouted, her thoughts beyond logic or rationality.

"Are you okay P?" Asked Amethyst in a concerned voice.

"I SAID GET OUT. AND LEAVE ME ALONE!"
