Zon sighs. He's made a bloody mess of things.

As usual.

He thumps his head against his desk.

It all started five seconds after Saifah and he shared a kiss after their performance.

"Zon, I -"

Zon's eyes barely registered the crestfallen expression on Saifah's face as he whirled around and bolted.

The thing is - it was all too much.

One minute they were on the threshold between friends and more than friends and then, suddenly they were barrelling into uncharted territories.

Even worse, it was Zon who had initiated it. The kiss, that is.

He had panicked when Saifah's face had that fond expression it usually had when he was with Zon, except it wasn't just fond, it was -

Argh

He knows he's emotionally constipated. Zol has said as much, many times.

Plus he's self aware.

At least that's what he tells himself.

It's been three days. Three days in which Zon has fluctuated from confusion to frustration to reluctant acceptance.

Zon accepts that he wants to kiss Saifah.

That this isn't some novel.

It's just him who can't stop thinking about smiling eyes, soft pink lips and a deep voice calling his name sweetly.

Now, he just needs to pluck up the courage to actually tell Saifah.

He should probably apologize too.

Why is liking a boy so complicated?

That's because you made it so, a voice that sounds distinctly like Zol resounds in his head.

Zon is brought out of his thoughts by the appearance of Nathee, who plonks a bowl of steaming congee in front of Zon. Their usual table in the cafeteria is emptier, his other friends have practice.

"Sawadee, Ai'Zon."

Zon grumbles in greeting, pulling the congee towards himself. He's about to gulp down a spoonful when Nathee knocks it out of his hand.

"That's not for you!"

"Oi! Ai'Thee. Then, who is it for?"

Nathee grins at him, taking pleasure at his miserable expression.

"Your sister."

"What?!!"

Nathee looks uncomfortable, as Zon's headache makes a reappearance.

"I'm just kidding, Khun Friend."

Zon glares at him. Nathee's jokes are more miss than hit these days.

"Anyway, where's Ai'Sai?"

Nathee questions with a knowing look on his face. Zon picks at a stray thread on his cuff.

"How should I know?"

"Oho, who else would know? You two are awfully chummy these days ..."

Nathee trails off, probably waiting for Zon to refute him.
