"Please say yes, please say yes" Said Lois quietly with her fingers crossed
"So its only for a night?" Mr. Robertson asked,
"Yes sir, just for a night" Lois replied
"And I can expect you here, the following day in the morning?"
"Yeah totally, I'll be here" Lois replied
"Then its settled, I'm giving for the day off, and I'll be expecting you to hold true to your word"
"Thank you Sir"
Lois dashed out of Mr. Robertson's office beaming with childish exuberance all over her face, for only the first time in her career, Lois was allowed a night out partying with her old friends.
Esther's invitation to a bridal shower came with a lot of unanswered questions, not only because it was out of the blue but it seemed she finally met the one after countless romantic failures. There were so many questions to ask, so much catching up to do, Lois couldn't miss this for anything.
Emily, Lois' twin sister had no time to prepare for it. Her first impulse was to decline, and when Lois first mentioned it countless flimsy excuses crossed her mind. Emily wasn't the socially active type, she would rather prefer to eat dinner alone very quietly than with her own family. The idea of eating, smiling and fraternizing with old friends, bringing long forgotten memories, regardless of how pleasant some of them were, made her skin crawl.
Lois called Emily and tried to persuade her into coming
"Look, don't take this the wrong way but I have better things to do" Emily said, standing her ground, insisting she would not go
"How else should I take that, but the wrong way, please its gonna be fun, Stacy is flying from France to come here, so you have no excuse" Lois replied in an attempt in emotionally blackmailing her sister.
Emily was prepared to go all out with her sister on the phone, but to say no would be grievously rude and she really didn't feel like arguing with her restless sister over the phone
"Fine I'll go" Emily said, knowing she had lost the battle
About 10 other girls excluding Esther, the bride were also expected to show.
At three O'clock in the morning, Lois eased out of bed and quickly took out her best of Roberto Cavalli, her favorite gown which drained a chunk of her monthly allowance
"Well I might as well take it, this is the best chance I'll get to show it off, its not like any guy is taking me on a date any time soon" Lois said to herself,
"Whoa, look at you, you're really looking to make a statement aren't you?" Emily said as he saw in Lois flawless apparel, walking down the staircase
Emily however took it simple, she wore a baggy basketball Jersey with a pair of hot pants and easy wear shoes.
"Is that what you're wearing?,we're going to a bridal shower not to watch a football match at the bar, you look like a hobo" Lois said
"Well, yes, this is what I'm wearing" Emily replied in an attempt to frustrate her sister
"Urgh, Are you ready?"Lois asked
"Yeah, but why are we going so early"
"Esther's house is out of town, we have to go early if we wanna get there in the afternoon"
The location was a bit out of the ordinary, it was on the outskirts of town. Lois drove 90km from Louisiana to get there, by 12 they were reaching their destination, the place was isolated, quiet, serene, an odd place for a bridal shower, these were the thoughts going through Lois' head, but she lost all sense of reason when she saw the luxurious cabin they were going to spend the night in
"Oh my God, is that the place, damn now that's a mansion, I finally get to sleep rich" Lois said
"Hey don't you think its weird that there's a huge mansion in the middle of the woods" Emily asked
"Don't be paranoid, its fine there's nothing wrong"
"Of course there isn't" Emily replied in a condescendingly sacastic tone.
Lois drove through the driveway and called Esther's line to open the gates.
The gates opened on command and Lois drove through,
"Whoa this place is bigger than I thought" Lois said.
Lois and Emily were both outside waiting to be allowed inside, the doors opened, and stepped out someone they knew but could not recognize, a woman of unparalleled beauty, her black silky hair dazzled them, her flawless skin was impeccable
Lois and Emily just stood there charmed and bewitched by the beauty before them.
"Welcome, its good to see you again"
"Huh?" Emily exclaimed
