I woke up to people crowded around me. Gazing at the medicine, bandaids, and the needles that were near me, I gathered that I was in the nurse station. When they noticed that I was responsive, everyone left out and began completing their duties.

Nurse: "Ms. Powers, hello. I'm Joyce, the school nurse. It seems that you have gotten into an altercation with Bree, the most popular girl at school. Between me and you, she ain't even all that cute. She walks around acting like the baddest thing in Atlanta, but everybody just likes her because her dad's the superintendent."

At this point, Mrs. Joyce was spilling all the tea. As I tried to sit up, I got a splitting headache and went right back to laying down.

Joyce: "I forgot to mention, you have a headache because you're dehydrated. Did you eat/ drink anything this morning?"

- Flashback to this morning -

I woke up, instantly looking at my alarm clock. 7:41. Oh no. I jumped out of bed and rushed doing everything. I brushed my teeth, washed my face, put my clothes on, sprayed some perfume, you know, all the extra. I looked at my Series 3 Apple Watch and realized that it was 8:05. I ran out the door and went straight for the car. Then, realizing I forgot the keys, I ran back into the house, yelled bye to my mom, and drove off in my all black Jeep Wrangler.

- End of Flashback -

Me: "No, I was rushing."
Mrs. Joyce: "That explains why you fainted after the altercation. Also, between me and you, you beat the hell out of her."  I just started laughing.

Honestly, I had forgot about the whole thing. She should've never tried me.

Me: "What time is it? I should get back to class."
Mrs. Joyce: "Oh. It's.... 2:15. You've been unconscious for a while. I wouldn't advise you to go back to class, I would tell you to go to the principals office."

After she gave me an apple and some water, I found my way to the principals office. When I walked in, all eyes were on me. Bree, Bree's mom and my mom were in the office with the principal.

Principal: "Ms. Powers, sit down please. Bree has told us of the altercation, but I would like to hear your side."

I told him everything, from start to end. Bree's mom was just shaking her head, very disappointed in her daughter. After hearing both sides, he decided that I would receive 1 day home and she would receive 3 for starting the altercation. We left out of the office and my mom took me back home. She was so disappointed in me, but I had my headphones in the whole ride.

When we got home, my stepdad was trying to ask questions. I wasn't in the mood to talk, so I just went up to my room, got in the shower and started playing Ari Lennox's album, Shea Butter Baby. As I bathed myself, I just started crying. Why did all of this have to happen to me? On my first day especially. I soon realized that I had to pull myself together. I turned the water off, got out of the shower, and began putting my clothes on. I never get texts or calls, so when my phone rang, I was surprised. I didn't answer, but they called me again.

No Caller ID.

I was bored, so I started to entertain them. I answered and a female voice responded.

???: "Soon, you will pay for what you did."

Next thing I know, the lights went off. I tried to reach my phone, but a strong arm pulled me. I tried to fight them off, but they weren't going for it. I could sense it was a man, so I kicked him where the sun doesn't shine. Breaking away, I ran downstairs, looking for my mom and stepdad, but I couldn't find them. At this point, the lights were back on. Then, I thought about my little brother. I ran back upstairs, yelling out for him. When I reached his room, he was still there, thank god. I went to my mom's room and her and Brad were sitting there, watching tv. They knew what happened, but were acting like nothing happened. I walked back to my room, searching for my phone. The unknown number texted me.

???: "This is just the beginning. Beating Bree was the worst mistake of your life. Publicly apologize, or next time, we won't just scare you."

I don't know who was texting me, but they weren't going anywhere.. and neither was I. They wanna play? Let's play.
