The Sudden Surprise

So now it is 10 minutes to 1pm and mum is taking me to that place... I dont have a clue where yet, she refuses to tell me.

Lily is coming with us because she is only 10 and we cannot afford to leave her alone. She keeps asking if we are there yet, my reply remains the annoyed huff. My heart is racing, something worries me.

Mum used to be an FBI agent and she worked for L until I was born and a few years later, my sister, Lily. Then L passed away... it must have been Kira. Apparently the person taken the second place of L was actually the Kira. L must have known it would be like this and that Kira would be more noticable without him around.

After L it was N... other known as Near, I don't know his real name but he became my Idol after he owned Kira and put him to justice at last. Could it be Near that wants to see me? Even if it is... why?

Mum pulls over and I peer through the window; outside is a tall skyscraper. Approximately 100 floors tall. I swallow in my anxiety.

"Why are we here?" I ask, almost whispering from the loss of my voice for not talking a while. Mum doesn't reply and exits the car to go around and open the door for me. I shiver slightly before stepping out of the car, my legs feeling slightly numb. We left Lily in the car which meant mum was going to leave me here... I didnt decide to complain.

We approach the main entrance of the tall building and mum presses the call button, making me gasp without even knowing it. My stomach is turning inside out. A few seconds after a reply is heard "Yes, Mrs (L/N)... Have you brought (Y/N)" I hesitate and look at mum. The person's voice seemed awfully familiar. It must be the same person that called.

"Yes, I have" my mum replies without any sort of hesitation, in her eyes I could see that she doesn't want to do it, as is she just has to.

"Good..." speaks the voice and the doors automatically slide open, I take a few breaths before I step in. This is so unsusual. I never had to leave my mum like this before... on my own.

Finally I take a step into the building and look around before spinning around a few moments after to see my mum walking back towards the car, through the closed glass doors. What is this?! Why?

"Hello Miss (L/N)" the voice says, making me look in front of me and around me to see who it is.

"Im no where close by" I gasp slightly and just walk towards the staircase displayed in front of me.

"Thats right... when you approach the elevator, make sure to press 20..."

Once I make my way upstairs I put in a bit of pace into my walk. I approach the elevator and poke the elevator call button. Instantly, the door to the elevator slides open, I hesitate and take a step forward.

"20..." the voice reminds me.

I almost punch the number 20 and stand forward, facing the door. I can feel my knees shaking.

Once I hear the beep at the approach of floor 20, the door slides open in front of my eyes, making me look down a long hallway with a door at the end of it.

"You're here... approach the door at the end of this hallway and push it right open" he orders.

I swallow and take a step out of the elevator, the door automatically closes behind me. I speed walk my way down the hallway and at the end of it I reach out my hand and push the door wide open...

The bright light almost blinds me, my eyes take a moment to get used to the brightness, I look around and take a step inside the room, full of CCTV TVs. I take a look down and on the floor is a young looking boy, about my age... could it be..?

He spins his head around with a strand of his hair curled around his finger, he looks me in the eyes and smiles warmly... its N...
