Everywhere you went felt as though you were being watched—several pairs of eyes staring hard enough to burn holes through your clothes. Not just stares, every girl you passed seemed to have something to whisper under her breath, never anything kind. Undoubtedly, it grew old quickly. The only reprieve was knowing that in just a few weeks, graduation would arrive and you would finally be free of the circulating rumors and gossip that clung to you like a lingering cloud of darkness and negativity. However, it wasn't all bad—after all, you held in the palm of your hand the object of everyone's envy, and on days like today, it came with a sweet taste too.

"Guess who?" a voice asked as your vision went dark, two hands covering your eyes from behind. The teasing, playful tone and the familiar scent of cologne left no room for guessing who it was.

"We're at school," you replied, tension creeping into your voice as you felt the laser focus of every pair of eyes in the vicinity.

Kuroo removed his hands, the weight of him shifting to rest against your shoulders, "And we graduate next week. Buckle up Buttercup—we have things to do today."

"Things?" You arched an eyebrow as you turned to face him, a knot forming in your stomach at the uncertainty of where this might lead.

With Kuroo, nothing was impossible and everything was a mystery. He rarely let anyone know the sheer volume of thoughts swirling through his mind— it would have ruined his sly, cool, infamous demeanor. Still, you knew well enough that he could have outconned a fox if he tried.

It was his turn to look inquisitive. "Did you forget?" The open-ended question lingered ominously in the air, mingling with the greedy gazes of onlookers. "It's White Day today," he added, answering his own provocation.

"No..." you paused. "But I told you that you didn't need to do anything."

The corner of his mouth tipped flirtatiously— never a good sign. "And the saved photos on your Pinterest boards suggested otherwise."

         "You saw?!"

"You left your phone unlocked on the table, face up. I merely stole a glance—relax." He smirked. "I thought it was cute that you think about these things."

Your cheeks burned redder than the gym lockers beside you, your head spinning with more questions than answers. Dizzy and half-convinced you should just crawled back to bed, perhaps for all eternity. You folded your arms tightly across your chest and stared him down: the menace with dashing charm and a voice rich as honey.
