A New Hope

Evie's POV

Today seemed like a normal day, the sun was shining, I was going to school (which I had gone through for 2 years without getting kicked out) with my best friend Grover but little did I know that things were about to get pretty weird. I woke up in my dorm room of ST Bithians middle school and I got ready for the day. I saw Grover and sat down next to him. It was the last day of school so I was super excited to get home to LA and see my mom and my abuelita(I'm Cuban) , yet for some reason Grover looked very worried. We finished the lesson in silence and headed over to PE,where we got free time so I decided to break the ice. "Grover what's wrong," I asked. He shook his head but I knew he was lying. Grover was terrible at lying so I asked him this,"Grover your my best friend so please tell me what's wrong?" He eventually gave in and said that he was worried about me. I laughed and said,"What's there to be worried about, life's great!" Grover shook his head and muttered," If only you  knew.' I was confused by his actions so I changed the subject to try and lighten the mood. After a few more hours, school was finally over. We all headed to our dorms to pack and to get ready for tonight. Every year on the last day of school we would have a dance to celebrate the end of school for the year. I finished packing and changed into my outfit, a short royal blue dress with gold sandals with my hair down(I definitely took after my brother Alex more than my sister Elena). I went downstairs and met up with Grover. We decided to go together since he had a girlfriend and nobody had asked me. We walked into the hall and headed for the food but Grover held me back. "Evie wait, I invited some of my friends to the dance, they should be here by now." I stopped and turned around eager to meet Grover's friends who he talked about the whole time. We headed out and saw 4 people walking up the steps. There was a boy of about 16 who looked way to mischievous, a girl with long golden hair whose arm was linked with MR Mischievous, a girl who looked 16 who was extremely beautiful but tried to hide it and a boy of about 18 with sea green eyes and black hair that was the same color as mine. When green eyes saw Grover he immediately ran up to him and hugged him for 5 minutes. "Good to see you G-Man." Grover smiled and turned to me. "Evie this is Percy," he said while pointing to the boy with green eyes. "And this is Piper, Calypso and Leo." I said hi and introduced myself. Suddenly there was a large explosion and out came these weird  ladies  with trunks for legs and they were wearing beat up armor. At that moment the 4 newcomers and Grover surrounded me with weapons drawn. They charged the demon ladies while I stood there in complete shock. After a few well aimed attacks the 5 heroes were knocked out and the weird ladies turned to me. "Who are you," I asked. "We are the dracaena," they said in raspy voices. They walked over to me and out of fear I held my arms out in front of me like a shield and closed my eyes even though it was never going to work. I braced myself for the impact but there was none and the dracaena had disappeared.
