Grey steps out of the elevator, the warm sunlight shining in his eyes and warming up his body. The heat waves throughout his whole body like a liquid fire. He opens his eyes and looks around him, it is beautiful!
Red, yellow and purple flowers from all sizes and shapes spread everywhere. High trees filled with leaves and life shooting out of the fine dirt into the sky. Bees flying through the sky collecting to make sweet honey, such a peaceful sight.

It is beautiful here! Woah! A majestic blue butterfly floating in the air above me, I have never seen anything like this! Well I can't remember me seeing anything like this! What if there are other people here? What if I can find a village maybe someone can tell me who I am? And perhaps bring me home!

'HELLOOOO?!" Grey yelled in the hope for a respond, but the only other sound was streaming water from a nearby small river. Grey didn't expect any response, but against all odds he heared someone. 'Is anyone there? I can't move, please help!" A young female voice came from a place quite far away in front of Grey. Grey wanted to run to the woman but..

I can't move, Iam frozen! Every single muscle in my body is out of energie! I feel drained, hopeless, frozen. Why am I stuck?

'I am stuck to!" Grey yells to the woman trying to keep communicating.
Suddenly a red hologram of a screen appeared right in front of Grey, the following text started appearing.

Welcome to the first round of Mortem, duels. Kill the other person in the arena or both die, every arena is different and has a variations of weapons hidden. Your opponent is receiving the same message, you have 10 minutes starting NOW!

What?! This must be a joke!

'Hey! You won't kill me right?" Grey yells. 'Well we will both be killed if we don't kill one of us!" The woman yells back. Grey moves his arms a little.

I can move again, but what do I do now? What is this crazy place? My heart is beating in my throat, I almost can't breath. I need to find a weapon to defend myself, this is ridiculous!

A small flinch of light reaches the side of Grey's eyes, quickly Grey looks at its source. And there on a blood colored flowerbed was laying a small stack of about 10 throwing knifes. Grey hesitated.. His heart was beating out of his chest, like a drummer going wild in an afternoon club. He felt every single muscle in his body fight against him, all human natures were fighting against him. Does he really need to kill another person to survive?

A throwing knife, I can always try it. Time is running out I should hurry! So I need to stop thinking about how crazy this is, I need to become a little crazy. I need to leave all human natures behind for this. 9 minutes left...

Grey reaches for the throwing knife, slowly stretching his fingers. Carefully he steps just next to the flowerbed to reach.

Got it! I need to get a good look over the arena, maybe climb in one of the trees. That one right there seems prefect, let's try.

But Grey was interrupted, a sharp spear shoots by just a few inches away from Grey's face. The woman was dressed in a white blouse and black skirt just reaching over her bloody knees. The woman is holding another spear and looks in pure fear at Grey. She was standing behind a tree not so far away. Grey grabs all of his attention and quickly picks up the first throwing knife. For a second of two the world seemed frozen. A sharp metal small throwing knife right next to Grey's face, clammed in his bloody fingers. His eyes fixated on the woman, she looks back with widened eyes. She is trying to protect herself with her remaining spear but it is useless like planting a flower, never taking care of it and expecting it to grow. Spoiler alert, it won't.
The metal blade flies through the air, like the majestic butterfly Grey saw. With a magical turn, like s dart threw the air. When after several moments the knife lands in the woman's stomach, making a fresh cut through her flesh.

I.. I am a terrible person, what have I done?

Grey runs towards the woman as she slowly starts fainting, all of her organs slowly turning off. Grey catches the woman just before her head hit the ground. There he was with a dying girl on his knees, as he was sitting down. The blood spreading everywhere and dying the white clothes red. The girl looks up at Grey and whispers her last words: 'I hope you are happy now, don't forget me please." The woman's heart stops, and she breathes out for the last time.
The words were kinda vage, what does she mean with 'don't forget me" as if Grey is ever going to forget this traumatic moment? A tear rolls over Grey's cheek

Iam sorry, Iam a monster! I don't deserve to live, I only deserve pain! Iam terrible, why did I do this I had no reasons! Iam... Iam awfull...

Grey slowly places the woman on the ground so she can lay still, and tries not to cry. 'Iam sorry" he says, even though the woman won't hear his words. The words echo into the distance, fading forever. Left to be forgotten and never responded to.
