BROTHERS BEST FRIEND [J.JK]

Chapter 2

For the past weeks, Jungkook has been visiting more often causing you to stay in your room since you refused to converse.

The feeling of rejection and emptiness resided in your body as you tried to isolate yourself from everything.

Namjoon tried to get you to go out, eat, talk, but you simply rejected them all as your heart felt heavy. As if you could feel the tear in your heart, you'd cry each night from the emotional pain.

It was only until two days ago that you decided to show up in front of your brother who hugged you tightly.

Your house ; 19:45hrs

The doorbell rang, causing you to flinch as you screamed to your brother that you'd get it.

You were met with a emotionless Jungkook who quickly flashed a heartfelt bunny smile. "Hey y/n, it's been a while."

You gave a light smile while nodding as he looked you up and down causing you to grow nervous. "Hey..it has" Looking back, you stepped aside to let him in.

"Uhm....Joon is upstairs...I can call him down i-if you'd like" You bit your lip before heading upstairs, only to be grabbed by Jungkook. "It's okay y/n....I didn't come to see him....I actually came to check on you"

Your body froze as he gently caressed your shoulders, making your face tomato red. "I'm fine...just great! Thanks" Quickly forcing our words, Jungkook shook his head, signalling for you to sit down.

Both staying silent, Jungkook left a space between you, not wanting to add any uncomfortableness you were skewer experiencing. He cleared his throat "Last year....I was in a relationship with this person who I loved. We did everything together and I dedicated all my life to her. I took her out on dates every other day, despite how busy we were." You nodded as your body tingled with verge of tears, in thoughts of where this would go.

The atmosphere around you both stayed dark as your brother fell asleep upstairs, leaving you two alone for the night. Jungkook fixated on your glossy eyes as you looked forward, in hopes that he'd continue, in which he did.

"A Little over five months of us dating, she began declining my dates saying she was busy with work. Which I believed since it seemed logical. Well, it was coming up on her birthday and I wanted to do something special, so I fad the idea of decorating her complex." He inhaled deeply while leaning his head back on the couch "Since I had the key, I thought I'd set up a nice romantic dinner. I went into her house at noon, which was when she said she had work and I found her sleeping with a guy....and it h-hurt because I dedicated so much to her, yet I still wasn't good enough"

Looking deep into the distance, he focused on the black TV screen "I was hurt, I felt empty and physically hurt. The feeling of satisfaction felt so distant that I wanted to die from lack of motivation. No one helped me, no one checked in on me. It was until your brother got me up, took me on a trip. No matter how much I refused to go, he made—"

Covering your face with your hoodie, you began crying out of your own control. Jungkook looked at you in shock before scooting beside you, bringing you into his chest.

Not sure if you were crying about the idea that he got cheated on or that you felt the same as him.

"Shhh, don't cry." He too let out a tear as you began to relax in his embrace. "I'm okay....please don't cry" He ran his fingers through your hair while pressing his lips against your forehead. He whispered before moving his hand to caress your cheek, bringing your eyes up to meet his. "You're going to be okay. I promise"

20:56hrs

You laid your head on his shoulder as he grabbed a nearby blanket, wrapping it around your bodies. "Y/n" You hummed as he laid his head over yours. "You gave Namjoon that advice and...it helped me." You nodded slowly as tightened his wrap around your body. "When people give advice like that...sometimes it's a call for help. Maybe a sign saying you need that to get better or recover from something."

He stayed silent as you shrugged "It was just an idea" Quietly thinking, he proposed an idea "I want to take you on a trip. Whenever you're ready. I want you to be able to rely on me when you feel down or need a shoulder to cry on. I want us to build trust because I care and you hold a special place in my heart."

Smiling to yourself, you looked as he angled his head to look down "What is it?" The back of his index finger rubbed your cheek as you wrapped your arm around his waist. "You have my trust Jungkook....and even if we don't know each other for too long, you've been special to my brother....which means you're amazing already."

He gave a small "Thank you" before running his fingers through your hair once again. "I want you to know me as your best friend, someone you can lean on....not just as Joon's best friend."

"I want that too." You whispered. "It'd mean they world to me"

I wish to be your world.

21:24hrs

Jungkook and you decide to watch a holiday film to get away from the negativity. His arm stayed around your body as you unconsciously rubbed his stomach causing him to blush. Your touch felt so sacred and tender to him as he kept his lips on your hair.

The sound of the creeping stairs brought Jungkook's attention to Namjoon who watched you both interact. Seeing as Jungkook couldn't see your face, Namjoon gestured that you were asleep which made him awe.

His hand reached to massage through your hair causing you to nuzzle your head deeper into his embrace. "So Kook" Jungkook's attention was nod on Namjoon, who sat in another couch. "Yes Hyung"

"You fancy my sister don't you?" His eyes looked away from his in shock or his sudden question "w-what do you m-mean?"

Namjoon laughed at the younger before pointing between your bodies. "I've known you for years Jungkook. You're Never this Close with someone, not even your ex." Jungkook rolled his eyes at the remembrance of her "You don't need to hide it from me kook"

Jungkook shook his head "I know Hyung. I'm questioning myself....after all, I've never fallen in love this quickly. I mean, look at my last relationship, it hurt. Also...what if they don't even feel the same way?"

"You weren't even in love with that other girl, you were in a hole which you dug for yourself" He began listing all the things Jungkook had done for her. "You were confused buddy. Love isn't about money, it's about caring and nurturing the person who has chosen to appreciate you for you." 

You let out a small sound as Jungkook held you tighter, adjusting the blanket in the process. "Look what you just did. Little things to keep them safe is what love means, you're putting things aside to care for them."

22:00hrs

The boys spent the rest of the time conversing as you slept in Jungkook's arms. Discussing past relationships and recapping these past few months, including the transition of you going out of a toxic situation.

Jungkook thought hard through deep conversation about his unknown feelings for you. Not knowing if it was as a close friend or loving way, he came to a conclusion that he'd take you on a trip to figure it out.

"I need to go Hyung" Namjoon nodded before getting up "I can take her to bed later, she's a deep sleeper so she'll be fine here, for now"

Jungkook shook his head "I'll take her up to make sure she's okay" His Hyung gave a sly smirk before laughing away at the younger. "Whatever suits you"

Picking you up bridal style, he felt his way up the stairs before gently laying you in bed. Pulling the covers over your body, he took off his hoodie and moved your limp hands up so you were hugging it. You pulled it into your body, his sleeve against your lips.

He sat on the edge of your bed, brushing through your hair a few more times while leaning down to peck your cheek. "Good Night beautiful"
