Ch.7 sleepover

~Ayame pov~

That same night Sakura had approached me just as I reached my small apartment , she told me she wanted to have a sleepover to catch up.

So here I was , duffle bag in hand, outside her house.

My hand reached up to knock but before I could it was opened by a cheerful Sakura .

"Hey!" She smiled .

"Yeah ...hi." I nodded .

She opened the door wider gesturing me inside .

I placed down my bag, "Where are your parents ?"

"Ahh they went out to dinner so we have to cook that ourselves and when they come back they won't be bothering us so it's fine ." Sakura explained with a distant look in her eye.

I pondered if others were invited , "So did ya invite anyone else ?"

"Just us! What you wanna eat!"

We headed towards the kitchen, dropping my bag near the sofa on the way.

"Oh we should just eat something simple and maybe we could do some baking ?" I titled my head.

Sakura clapped her hands together , "Yes let's make cake and cookies ! Anyways we could just have so ramen ?"

"Ramen is fine."

So we ate instant ramen but it wasn't bad, I actually quite liked ramen and talking with Sakura was fun , well until we got to the serious stuff.

"You miss Sasuke right?" I sighed .

"Yeah but we all do right." Sakura smiled sadly.

My throat felt dry as I hesitated to ask another question , "Do you uh...still like him?"

"No. Not anymore , I miss him but more as a friend and a team mate."

My eyes widened in shock , "Wait seriously ??"

She nodded, "Okay enough with the serious stuff , let's bake."

The sad atmosphere hence was lifted and we laughed and giggled throwing flour and making a mess.

I mixed the butter and flour into a batter, adding in sugar and eggs.

Giggling to myself , I scooped some up and wiped it on Sakura's face.

"Ok I think that's enough ." I smiled wiping it off Sakura's face.

She quickly licked it off my finger ,then my face.

My face blushed bright red , "Wh-What are you doing?!"

Realising what she did, Sakura's face flushed as she backed away , "S-sorry."

It was silent as we placed the cake and biscuits in the oven.

It was silent for a while , until we started decorating the cake with icing .

The awkwardness lifted as we started to forget about it .

We lay on Sakura's bed just watching movies and eating cookies.

"This was fun!" I smiled at her .

"Yeah I missed this." She smiled back.

Before I knew it, we had fallen asleep .
