Rich POV:

So happy that its the weekend. The weekend that I finally move out and move into my own apartment. The weekend that I get away from the asshole I call dad.

Putting my last box in the apartment, I see a girl that I some what recognize. She seems to be helping an older woman back to an apartment. I feel like I should help out or something, but then again, I probably shouldn't.

Some time later, I decided to take a break from this moving crap and just veiw the outside. I look over to some of my neighbors, one of them smoking and on the phone, another one just letting out their dog. When looking over to that girl from a little bit ago, she greets me with a wave, I wave back.

We both walk to each other, meeting up in the middle of the street. "Hey" I started, she gives a smile, saying it back. "I'm Rich, I just moved here" I say glacing back to my apartment. She does the same, then both of us looking to each other. "I'm Y/N... technically, I don't really live here, I just visit my grandma alot... she's starting to forget people and becoming deaf"

Glad to know she's helpful. Well, she already seems really cool. But, I feel like i've seen her before a few times, i'm not sure where. I do know that she's too cool to hang out with me though.

We both stand there, talking among ourselves before she had to go and help her grandma. She seems so chill and so funny. As im walking back to my apartment, I get a text from Jake.

Yo, Rich!
Im having a party tomorrow night, you in?
-Jake

Classic Jake... having parties

Totally! Just give me a time and i'll be there

That night, I decided to take a stroll around the area of all the apartments. Closing the door behind me and looking at my neighbors, Y/N is there sitting in a rocking chair. She appears to be looking down at her phone and a little sad.

Taking the chance, I walk over to her and put my arms on the rail, leaning against it. "Hey... are you okay?" I calmly ask. She looks up, wipping some tears from her cheek. "Hm? Oh, yeah, im fine"

"It doesn't look fine, clearly, do you want to tell me what's wrong? Im all ears" I politely say to her.

She takes a deep breath, wiping away more tears from her face. "Well... earlier, my boyfriend decided to break up with me. And-" she puts her hand to her mouth, trying not to cry.

I walk around the rail, pulling up a bucket they have so I can sit on. "It's okay, Y/N..."

You know, all of my friends think that im this guy who is this crazy, daredevil, douchebag. All though its true, i'm not all that. Maybe at different times, I can be this guy who's just a gentleman. Sometimes I question; why does everyone think of me like that?

The tears in her eyes, coming down her face just makes me sad. No clue why, I mean... I feel really bad for her. This is the time to just let her say whatever she wants to say. "T-the other thing is that... um, im scared that my grandma will forget who I am, and uh, im worried about what's going to happen with her" she spoke up.

"I'm really sorry about your boyfriend..." I started

"And your grandma... she's going to remember you, I promise"

She looks up to me "you think so?"

I nod my head, not saying anything. When suddenly, my phone buzzed. Part of me wants to look at it but the other half doesn't want to because of Y/N. "Aren't you going to answer your messages?" She asked, curiously. I take a quick glance then putting it back in my pocket.

Hey... can we talk?
-Michael

"No... its not important, just a friend asking to hang out"

For a few seconds, she seemed confused. She opened her mouth but nothing came out for a split second. "Then why don't you hang out with your friend?"

I shake my head, keeping my eyes on her. All because she's hurt. I would rather make Y/N feel better than actually hanging out with friends. She is hurting alot... im her comfort. "Please... I would rather help you feel better than just leaving you hurt"

She then puts her feel on the ground and leans in to hug me. Of course I hug her back. We both stand up, she turns to grab her phone. I stand back, leaning against the railing. "Would you care to join me for a walk? It will help you calm down a little"

She smiles, nodding her head. I stuff my hands in my pockets. "Yeah, just let me change or else my ass is gonna freeze" we both chuckle. Then, she goes inside while I pul out my phone to answer Michael.

I can't right now, im busy.
How about tomorrow before the party?
-Me

Oh yeah, I should probably say...
The SQUIP thing happened about 3 months ago and Jeremy, Michael, and Christine join the rest of us. We all started to get along well.

Once Y/N gets out, we begin our walk. Getting to know each other, talking about alot of random shit. I found out that she goes to the same school I go too, which is why she looks familiar.

-----

When we get back from our walk, I walk Y/N back to her apartment. "Thanks for helping me calm down, that was nice of you" she smiles.

"That's what friends are for... I would do it anytime" I smile back.

We both stand there, quietly. None of us probably not knowing what to say. She walks towards me, hugging me. I wrap my arms around her, hugging her. All of a sudden, I feel tears falling on my back. Y/N's probably crying, but that's okay.

After a while, we both let go of each other. She wipes her tears and step back. "Just know that im always a shoulder to cry on" I lightly tap her arm.

"I guess i'll see you around" she says.

We both say our goodbyes and head back to my apartment. From what I know, I can safely say that Y/N is really funny, super cool, and very independent. Im glad to say that she's gonna be one of my best neighbors.

Walking to my kitchen, I grab some food and sit in the chair. Which is literally the only furniture that I can sit on. Now im remembering, Michael texted me back.

Totally, it's just something I had on my mind for a while. I'll be over around noonish?
-Michael

Sounds good.
Just maybe eat before you coming over cuz I just moved into my apartment and I don't have that much food yet.
-Me

Michael and I have been texting for a little bit before I had to go, setting up my mattress.
