chapter 6:Love a beginning of a new journey

KATERI's POV

We entered together since neither of us would let the other go in first. And that's how it started. My new journey. Mr.lawson looked particularly angry today. It is like the world made him angry purposely knowing we would come.

"So,you two decided to bless me with your presence today?! A first for you Kateri and..?" He said

"I'm Darnel Martins, a new students. Just recently transferred"

"Well Darnel,we don't tolerate trouble in this school,okay?! I don't know how it was done in your old school but we don't tolerate this behavior in this instution. I expect this to be the first and last time for you too.
And you Kateri,if you weren't on the track team,I'd be more harsh with you. You have won us too many gold medals,but that doesn't mean you can't serve a week worth of detention.

Since you'll be having between classes and after school practice on Wednesday,Thursday and Friday; albeit your Monday and Tuesday are free from after school activities, which you'll use to serve your punishment and yeah that counts for you too Martins. Also you'll be coming this Saturday to school to clear out space for the chess club."

"Have I made myself clear? And I'm not taking any objections. Not from you too. Now get back to class,will you!"

We both nodded and went out of his office.

Well that was fast and quick enough to get me far away for Darny. Yes I'm sticking with that nickname;deal with it.

"I can't believe you" he said interrupting my thoughts
"You cause trouble wherever,and you drag innocent people along. And it's not right. Please try to stay far away from me as you can." He whisper-yelled

"Slow your roll, I'm not the one who started it and you know it. And I'm definitely not trouble,you are the one who turned a simple hello into the grinch talk. I only wanted to know if you're okay and if what they said about you was you,okay?" I said the last part with hand gestures.

"Yes,don't look at me like that. I thought you were innocent,and I felt the way you were described by my friend didn't match the description of you that I met.

Ahhh how twisted,seeing as you're the one being the Grinch and I the nice one. And I get called out and made fun of for being nice. Damn you! All I want is to be very much away from you. Way far but guess what?!! We stuck together for three days which includes the weekend. Like when I say things can't get worst they do. Spending my weekend with you has to be worst thing all year. No kidding!!
Now let's move on with our lives please!" I said angrily

Walking away from him to my next class. I heard him laugh. That caught my attention,making me turn my head faster than I intended to. Awwwww damn this guy. Making me do things I wouldn't consider doing for anyone.

"You talk way too much for a short girl. But that's to be expected right?! And you were being nice for the wrong reasons,which was only to get information from me to satisfy your curiosity. Oh well,guess you're never gonna find out. You do want me out your life. Really thought you'd like to quench that thirsty of yours and bare with me,like I do you." He said mockingly for the most part.

"You're absolutely dumb as he'll. You are the one who said you want me far away from you. This ain't love some love shit that I fight for something hopeless. And who says you make me feel anything worth fighting for.

Funny how a guy's brain works,thinking they can control and manipulate any situation they find themselves to get out being the one blamed or the one in trouble. Well that isn't gonna work on me. And I won't try to manipulate or force you into telling me why they said that. Or you're side of your story. I just wanted to be your friend and if one day you feel comfortable you'd tell me. But hey, your loss." I walked out,anger deafening me from whatever retort he might come up with.

"Boys!!" I rolled my eyes.
Always thinking they are super smart and superior. (He) Hasn't had the right girl to school 'em. I'd love to teach him a thing or two. Only if I could. I'm gonna make his last 3 days his worst nightmare.
Pays him right for making my first attempt of being nice in a very long time,a waste. These are reasons why being nice isn't worth it. It simply not appreciated.

Now in my room, looking up at the ceiling, thinking of ways I could make Darny's life hell. Oh, isn't my life great. Other people are doing homework, watching a movie, eating, hanging with friends, while I'm here, obsessing over a guy that doesn't love me and trying to make another's life hell. What a way to live.

I wish so many things. Things that are just dreams. Dreams of love. Love that's not even real.

Having this in mind,I fell asleep. One day I'll find love and know what it is to be loved.

Then something unexpected happened.
He called me. Like HE, like the HE that no matter how many times he stamps on my heart,I would go running back to him.

But seriously,who the fuck calls at three in the morning. Nobody has respect for me anymore. I think I'm being way too nice.
I picked the call and answered. My voice groggy from sleep.
"Why are you calling me at fucking 3 in the morning?"
What? I might like him but I need my sleep okay.
My heart stopped when I heard him cry.
"What's wrong?" I sat up
"Me and Zena...we fought" he paused to sniff.
"We fought and it was bad and I don't know what to do. I don't want to lose her. I really love her Kateri and i don't want to spend a breathing moment with her not being mine." he cried out.

Oh what I a pity. Love shouldn't cost you so much pain,and if it is why not let it go right.
I was neutral about the fact that whatever I could say next, would either help or break their relationship. Oh well..

"Wanna tell me why you guys fought in the first place?" I asked

Silence.

"It's about Darny isn't it?" Knowing full well that all of them are connected with a bad history.

"Who is Darny?" He asked
"Darny as in Darnel, your cafeteria brawl partner??!!" How did he not get that.
"So you guys are on nickiname base now. Wow! Kateri you need to stay away from him. He's bad news"

"You have no right to tell me what to do and who I should hang with. He's being more of friend than you have, since you came back." I growled. Wow! I lieee.

"No,you don't get to blame me for that,you never want to hang out. Only saying you're busy and you never show up when you say you would come. Fine!! You can go meet your Darny and see if I care. Just don't come crawling back when he tries you like shit,cause o won't be nobody's second choice again" he shouted and ended the call.

Leaving me almost yelling you're my first choice.

I wondered what must have happened with Darny and Zena,that would make him freak out like this.

Ivan doesn't just get pissed easily and he's pretty chill with everyone. I need to find out. Arghhhh I'm gonna have to friend the enemy. I can't believe I'm going to stoop low and be best friends with her. I'll get to unrap miss perfect
