Hey everyone, and welcome back to Fix You! c:
So my best friend (and writing consultant) came over Sunday, and we discussed further ideas for Nano, and I really like the feedback she gave me! She also gave me some ideas, so be prepared for that. Still no firm release date, however ^^
The song this chapter is not a common one by any means. It's a soundtrack, but I really like it a lot, as well as the message it sends. I strongly suggest you listen to the video I add while reading this chapter ;D
This chapter was meant to be something different, but I wrote too much for this one, so what was supposed to be in this chapter will occur next chapter c:

ELISE
It was relieving to spend some time with my old friends again. Doctor Evans even gave me a week off, delighted by the change they brought about in me. I was happier, if only a little bit, and didn’t mope around as much as I had.
It was the best week I’d had in a long time. We went bowling at Zach’s request (complete with pizza and milkshakes), saw a movie because of Mike, and spent a day at a theme park thanks to Julio’s thrill-seeking personality. Maddie, the same girl I remembered from years ago, allowed me to escape from the boys for a while and shop. Thankfully, she recalled my hatred of clothes shopping and brought me to a large bookstore with a built-in coffee shop, and we spent hours browsing the selections and sipping hot chocolate.
It was absolutely amazing, and there was so many distractions that I left my sorrows behind for a while and simply enjoyed life, something I’d been wanting to do for years.
My anxiety returned, however, when Sean asked me if I’d like to go out for lunch with him.
“What are you waiting for?” Julio had asked when I received the text message while we’d been playing video games.
If I was honest with myself, I was nervous spending time alone with someone other than Julio and Maddie. Jordan seemed different (though not necessarily in a bad way), and I hadn’t actually spoken with Sean directly since the dinner. My stomach twisted and I bit my lip so hard that it began to bleed. I cursed softly and sat up on my bed, deciding to video chat Maddie in the hopes that she would give me advice.
“Elise!” she chirped, her face appearing on my phone screen. “What’s up?”
“Hey, Maddie,” I replied, not able to share her enthusiasm. “Do you think you could give me your honest opinion on something?”
Her smile fell slightly. “That’s what I’m here for. Shoot.”
I averted my gaze from the phone and stared at the window instead. “Sean asked me out to lunch on Wednesday.”
She squealed so loudly that I held the phone farther away, wincing slightly. “Oh my gosh, Elise! Did you say yes?”
“That’s the thing. I don’t know if I should…”
“Why not? You’ve dated Sean before, and you can’t deny that he was one of the best boyfriends a girl could ever have. I saw you two, you were so happy together. Why the sudden stage fright?” she questioned.
She’s right, a voice whispered in the back of my mind.
I twirled my hair around my finger, a habit I’d kept from back in middle school when I was nervous. “I guess so. I’ll do it, I suppose.”
“Yay!” cheered Maddie. “You’ll have a great time, I know it. Just be yourself, and if it helps, pretend that you and Sean are back in junior year, eating at Panera like you did every Friday night. You have to tell me all about it!”
I chuckled, my fears slowly washing away with each word Maddie spoke. “Thanks, Dul. I knew I could count on you.”
“Of course. That’s what girl friends do.” She winked. “Talk to you later, Elise! You can tell me all about it when you stay over Thursday night.”
“Will do. Bye Maddie!” I clicked the ‘End Call’ button and smiled to myself, switching over to my messages app and clicking on the conversation labeled ‘Sean {Grape}.’
From Elise: “Of course! I can’t wait ;D’
Next chapter will be a Sean and Elise chapter! I'm excited to see how this plays out >:D
