I woke up that morning to the sun shining bright through the windows. I get dressed and walk over to the mirror. Today is a big day, so I make sure I look nice. Today is the day I take the test.

I look in the mirror. I put on the same, everyday clothes. I'm skinny like my mom and short for my age, but mom says I'll get there. I pull my auburn red hair back into a braid and put my necklace on. I head downstairs, grab a slice of bread and head for the door.

"Hey beautiful princess," Mom says walking over to hug me, "good luck on the test today."

"Thanks." I answer. I go to walk out the door, when Jenna comes running.

"Good luck!" She hugs me, "I love you sissy!"

I give her one last squeeze and headed out. I find Eric sitting on the steps. He jumps to his feet when he sees me. "Hey, you ready for today?" He asks with a smile on his face.

"Hey." I smile back, "yeah, I guess." I answer, shrugging my shoulders. We walk to the bus stop.

"So why are you so happy?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.

"Mom is doing so much better today."

"That's great!" I smile back at him.

We wait for the bus. When the bus gets here we hop on and sit towards the back.

"Are you scared?" He asks, noticing my shaky hands.

"A little," I say looking down at my lap. He grabs my hand and holds it for the rest of the trip.

When we get off at the test building, it is crowded with colors of all classes. Grey, blue, red, green, purple, and black. We head over to the counter to tell them that we are here.

"Name." The lady, with the clipboard, asked.

"Ericson Garcia." Eric replied.

"Ok," The lady writes it down, "and you?" She asks, looking at me.

"Isabella Evans." I answer shyly and she writes it down.

"Ok, now please go inside and sit down. Wait for them to call your name."

Inside there is a giant room filled with chairs. On the other side is a pair of double doors. Kids going in and out of them. The test room. We take our seats towards the back. They go by our last names, so I will be before Eric. We wait about 2 hours, watching kids go in and out. Then they call my name. "Good luck." Eric says, squeezing my hand.

I get up and walk to the double doors. A tall but skinny woman stands there. "Isabella Evans?"

"Yes." I reply

"Ok," She walks into a room that almost looks like the dentist office, that I used to go to when I was younger. "I'm going to have to have you lay down on the table, please." She gestures to the table in the middle of the room. I walk over and sit on it. It's cold under me.

"Now I'm going to do a few tests on you and we are done." She grabs a syringe and fills it with a clear liquid.

"What is that stuff?"

"You're going to be in a simulator first." She replies, putting the syringe in my arm. I drift off to sleep and wake up in a room.
I look around and I see 2 stands. One with a gun and one with cookies. Then I see a timer, counting down from ten seconds. I stare at them, not knowing what to do. A voice starts counting down from three and I run towards the stands but I'm too late, the objects on the stands are gone. "Good luck." The voice says, then disappears.

Then I hear a loud grunt behind me. I turn around to see a large man standing there. With a knife in each hand. He starts to charge at me. I bolt to the side and he flies right into the wall behind me. One of his knives flies out of his hand and shatters on the floor. With the other, he throws it at me and I duck just in time for it to fly over my head. I look at him. What am I going to do?

Heat fills the air. He charges at me and I throw my hands up. He stops immediately, staring at me with scared, wide eyes. My hands are on fire. Fire shoots from my hands and hits him in the leg. He screams in pain and runs the other way, trying to get away.

I wake up on the table of the testing room. The woman stares at me with wide eyes. Smoke fills the room. "What happened in there?" She asks me. "You were in a simulation. That was you on fire and you don't even have a mark on you." She stares at me, looking for an answer. An answer I don't have.

"I don't know what happened." I answer, just as scared as her.

"Okay." The woman rubs her eyes. "We are done now. Do not tell anyone about what happened. Do you understand?"

"Yes but what did I get, what were my results?"

"Um... let me figure that out but don't tell anyone. Not even your family. Okay?"

"Okay."

"Okay, let's go out the back." She leads me out back and I take the bus back home.
