It has been a little over a week since I had sent out my resume, I had applied to three companies. One had emailed me back this morning about coming in for a interview, the second one kindly rejected me, and I say kindly because it was a personal email but didn't mean it stung any less. But I am waiting for the last company to reply, mainly because working for this company not only looked good for future reference, it also had a reputation of being involved with its employees after they have left the company. On good terms that is, example being one of the many employees they had, left after with the company for 5 years and soon began running her own small company and of course with the help of this company was able to open her business.

So I guess you can say I applied mainly for that reason, I needed all the help I could get in order for me to achieve my dream. Of opening a small publishing company, I majored in Business in college and had a B.A. I know that it might be ideal to have a Masters, but then I figured that a lot of people have become successful without a degree, but if I got my foot in the door with experience and since school is kind of my thing I could go back to school later on. It was a struggle though, my parents had saved and saved in order for my sister and I to go to school but that soon ran out, and we relied on scholarships, financial aid, working odd jobs here and there. But we were thankful for our parents and all that they did for us.

My parents don't know that I want to be my own boss, a CEO if you will. They just know I want to work in some big company that pays well. If I had told them I'm trying to be my own boss, it would cause a commotion. My parents came here when they were teenagers, but had that old style way of thinking in them. Although after being here for some time they became a little more open minded.

After browsing through my emails, I went in search of some snacks and a soda, trying to kill time before having to leave later on to meet Zoe for some coffee. Sitting on my bed I turn on my tv when I hear a little ping go off from my laptop. Literally throwing everything to the side I rush over to see. Then I see it. The email I have been waiting for.

Oh please let this be good news.

As I open up the email, there it is, an email from Wes Inc.  I don't know how to react, I haven't even seen the whole thing. But scrolling down all I look for is keywords, and I find them.

Interested. Interview. Follow up.

I let out a little squeal nearly falling back onto my bed, but its fine because they are giving me an interview! The lady who replied to me asked if I could go in on Monday morning, 9 a.m. sharp. Giving me instructions to see Lauren Thorton, head of HR. This was finally my time, I hoped that this could be the start of something new and exciting. I have this whole weekend ahead of me to research more into the company. All I know is that they are extremely generous with previous employees, great health care benefits, etc., I couldn't wait to see what else Lauren had left to inform me about.

After snacking, getting ready and dressed, it's finally time to go meet Zoe. We were lucky that we lived close by to a Starbucks so we would always walk over to it. Zoe lived in her own place, just as far away from Starbucks like me but on the opposite side. She's always nearby though, visiting her mom. Zoe managed to work in a law firm, she passed the bar but is gaining experience working for the firm before going forward. What was great though is they pay her pretty good so she's does well on her own. I, on the other hand had graduated about six months ago, no job but lived with my parents who are kind enough to let me live rent free. For now.

As soon as I walk into Starbucks I see Zoe sitting by the long glass window, already with our coffees. My usual iced caramel macchiato with almond milk, and her an iced mocha with extra whipped cream. Zoe sees me walk in and stands up to hug me, "Hey you! I feel like it's been ages since I last saw you."

I laughed taking a sip out of my coffee, "Zo, its only been a week. We meet up every week."

"I know mimi but still, we use to hang out everyday! That was until I moved away." She has a little frown on her face, "It's okay Zoe. Soon Ill be able to move in with you and officially become roommates!"

Zoe lifts her eyebrows, blue eyes gleaming into mine, "What are you not saying???" I smirked and turned my face towards the window, looking at her from my the corner of my eye. She smacks my arm, "Well! Spit it out!"

"I got an email from Wes Inc. finally! I have an interview on Monday!" She squeals with delight as she gives me a fist bump, "You see! I knew it would happen! They should totally take you!"

"Well let's keep our fingers and toes crossed." Laughing we get on about her love life, her job, and how her mom is doing.
