Bloody Origins

Part 3

I crept through the forest as to not disturb the rare silence. My feet softly glide across the grass stirring up firefly's to light a small path. The dim glow of the insects calms me as I continue walking, beside this was my domain. 

Stars shine above me revealing the silhouette of a cottage in the distance,my home. I continue silently a long the well worn path looking up at the vast sky. I always loved walking through the woods letting everything slip away from me like leaves in the wind, yet every time the harsh force of reality drags me back. 

I wince as the door creaks open revealing the dark kitchen. Holding my breath I step in I let the door close behind me with another small whine from the hinges. The familiar floorboards feel smooth under my feet as I shuffle through the dark house. 

I close my bedroom door behind me letting out a huff of relief. My muscles relax as I collapse on my bed for a well earned rest.
