27: Confessions

"Make sure to say the we were meant to be line in front of Judy." I tell Brooke and Daniel.

"Good point. God, it's so weird." Daniel sighs after nodding at me.

"So, how exactly are you gonna get Emma's chess set from Jason?" Brooke asks Max and Jackie.

"While you're at dinner, I'll call Jason and tell him I think I've found Emma's chess set in the Raven's clubhouse. Make him think maybe he took the wrong one." Max says and Brooke and Daniel nod.

"Once Max calls him, Jason will have to leave dinner and go to his office to see if maybe someone had taken Emma's chess set." Jackie says.

"That's part one. Part two, once Jason leaves, Brooke has to find a reason to leave the dinner, too. Then, all you have to do is follow your brother and you'll find the chess set." I say and Brooke nods at me.

"Then we arrive at part three." Jackie starts.

"These two are exact replicas of the white knights in Emma's chess board. You need to replace Emma's pieces with these" Max says as he slides two white knights in front of Brooke.

"What do you guys say, great plan or what?" I tell them.

"I don't know. Jason will be onto us." Daniel says.

"No, he won't. I got this." Brooke says, looking at him.

"Okay. Let's go." I say as I send everyone a smile and they nod, Brooke and Daniel leaving first.

"Well?" I ask Daniel and Brooke as they come back from dinner.

Brooke then hands the chess pieces to Max and he smiles, taking them from her.

"Yes!" Jackie says, high-fiving Brooke.

"Alright." I cheese, high-fiving Daniel.

"Thank you guys. And Daniel, I know this is really hard. But you're doing the right thing." I tell him as Max walks away with the chess pieces.

"Yeah, I know. It just still feels weird to me." He sighs, putting his hands in his pockets.

"It'll feel like that for a while but you'll be okay. I promise." I say, patting his shoulder as I walk off with Jackie to the clubhouse.

"Great job, by the way." I grin at Jackie.

"Happy we didn't get caught." She says and I chuckle, nodding my head as we stop by the washroom.

I then see Leo standing still, looking frozen into the mirror.

"What happened to you?" I asked him.

"I forgot to brush my teeth." He flatly says, still stoned face.

"So why are you dressed like you were outside?" I ask him.

"I guess I got tired and fell asleep in my clothes." He says.

"Okay." I finally say, walking off with a confused Jackie.

"That was weird. Did you two have another fight or something?" Jackie asks me.

"No. After I came back from the storage room yesterday, we had a talk and everything was fine. He was his usual cocky, but funny self." I say.

"Shit, Val." Jackie says.

"What?" I say as we stop by Jackie's bed.

"You don't think Marcus got to Leo, do you?" She says.
