*BEEP* *BEEP*
Lauren slammed her alarm clock with the palm of her hand. Slowly opening up her eyes and groaning at the noise it made. Waking up to a moist pillow. Figured she fell asleep crying again.
She thought that she had moved on from all of her bad thoughts and memories from her past. Quickly trying to get rid of them when she realized that she had to hurry up for school. As she entered the bathroom, she did her regular morning routines, applying her usual makeup and getting dressed quickly. As she was staring into her reflection, her vision started to blur. As an instinct she quickly looked away, she figured it worked as she could start seeing clearly again. Lauren never liked her appearance or thought she was anything different. Always leaving her upset with her looks.
Laurne hurried up downstairs, grabbing her car key and took off for her car, skipping breakfast and not even saying bye to her parents. Being quick to avoid any awkward conversations. Lauren always felt bad leaving so fast in the morning, but she just wanted to avoid the heart breaking look her parents always gave her, and they were always warning her about crazy drivers. Which in time started to annoy Lauren.
As always, it felt like it took her forever to get to school. Lights would always flicker to red when Lauren would get close to the intersection, always thinking it was the universes way of punishing her, leaving her alone with her thoughts in the car. Arriving at school, Lauren made a quick right turn and arrived in the parking lot. Quickly parking and grabbing her things, she entered inside. Having gym first block, she hurried up into the girls locker room.
After not taking too long changing, Lauren found herself in the gym, surrounded by her other classmates. All waiting for the gym teacher. "Home of the Devils" was writing in a huge font on the wall. Lauren sighed deeply waiting impatiently for class to start. More and more girls started to come into the gym. Soon enough the gym teacher, Misses Emily, came into the sight.
"Alright ladies, who's ready to do have some fun?" Missed Emily exclaimed, receiving a groan from all of her students.
"Come on ladies, gym is not that bad!"

After gym class was over, Lauren made her way to her next class, biology. Walking through the crowded hallways, she almost reached the door to her class when something caught her eye. She noticed someone sitting in the principles office. But not just anybody, this was a new student. She watched her for a couple of seconds before deciding that it did not seem that interesting and made her way inside of class. Sitting in her usual spot in the corner of the class. The spot next to Lauren's was empty, well it was not always empty. A student once used to sit there, an old love interest of Lauren. But she is long gone and moved away two months into the school year. Lauren being the quiet and reserved person she is, no one bothered trying to sit next to her, filling the chair that was once filled up. Her science teacher, Miss Glen, walked in with a girl, the very same one that she swore she saw in the principles office.
The stranger caught Lauren's eye for a bit, but she decided it was not worth her time and went back to scribbling notes into her notebook.
"Hello class, I would like to introduce you to a new student" Miss Glen spoke.
"Um, hi, I'm Camila" the brown haired girl said shyly. Fiddling with her fingers and pacing back and forth subtly.
"This is her first day, is there anybody that would like to help her around for the day?" Miss Glen said, while looking around for any students that were interested.
She caught Lauren not paying attention and decided to call her out.
"What about you miss Jauregui? Interested in showing around our new student?" Miss Glen said, while gently smirking and knowing well that she embarrassed Lauren.
"Um well actua-" Lauren started
"Okay well it is settled, Camila you can go sit next to Lauren, she'll help you out" Miss Glen cut Lauren off before she could deny the offer and sent Camila away without another word before continuing her lesson.
As Camila started walking towards her, she looked down shyly and slowly brought up her eyes to Lauren. Giving her a little wave, not knowing what else to do. Bringing her hand out, she introduced herself again. Lauren gladly took her hand and shook it, giving her gentle smile. In that moment, Camila ultimately decided that she wanted to see that smile again, and again. Not really knowing why.
"I'm sorry about that, I did not think that the teacher would do that" Camila said while looking down.
"It's fine don't worry about it, I'm sorta used to it. But it is nice to meet you and I also don't mind showing you around" Lauren said, while continuing scribbling in her notebook.
"Thanks Lauren, it's nice to meet a friendly person" Camila said while smiling at Lauren.
Lauren slowly pushed her notes towards Camila.
"This is what we have so far for this unit, you can copy them if you want" leaning in slowly and whispered to Camila. She just nodded her head and quietly copied Lauren's notes.
After what felt like forever, the bell finally went off, signaling that it was lunch time. Both girls started to pack up their things and headed outside.
"Hey Lauren you don't mind if I join you for lunch right? It's just cause I don't really know anybody and I don't want to look like a loser and-" Camila started to ramble off.
"Yes of course you can join me. I would feel bad leaving you alone anyways and I always enjoy the extra company!" Lauren said quickly, walking a bit fast. Leaving Camila trailing behind her, smiling like an idiot.
