Shawn POV
"A mermaid... a FREAKING mermaid." Shawn mumbles as he enters the kitchen. "What would they eat....." he wonders. Shawn looks at the pizza with anchovies. "She can't eat fish. She is a fish. Stop it Shawn. Stop it" he hits himself on the head. "Pineapple?" He grabs the fruit. He turned around when he heard footsteps. "Shawn?" She struggles to speak. "Hey YN... um you want this pineapple?" He offers it to her unsure what to feed the mermaid. YN reaches out for the pineapple and inspects it. Without a second thought she bit into it. "Wait no!" Shawn takes it back as she flinches at the pain. "You're supposed to cut it first..." he shakes his head as he takes it. YN rubs her mouth and watches Shawn cut the pineapple. "This is going to be a long eight months" he mumbles as he gives the fruit back to the mermaid. "Now... YN. Tell me everything about mermaids" he ask as they both sit down. She looks up to the human with her mouth filled. She swallows and rests her forehead on his to show him her world.
Beautiful is an understatement to describe what's under the clear blue waters. Thousands and thousands of underwater life can be seen. The deeper they go, the more beautiful it gets. Colorful fishes in all shapes and sizes. A cave comes into view and inside it. Its breathtaking. Hundreds of merpeople are seen. Many with families, others minding their own business. Smiling faces everywhere. It's unbelievable but you could almost hear music. A beautiful harp with enchanting voices. All of the sudden. The beautiful mermaids joyful faces turn sour. Screams almost like banshees come through the city. Mermaids look in terror as they swim away with the children. As the marmans look like they are preparing for battle. The screams become louder and louder until the things behind them emerged. Sirens. The evil kind of the merfolk have came out of the shadows. They go straight for the merman without a second thought. Blood emerges as bones are being crunched. In the far distance. There was YN. In the corner, shaking with fear. She looks around for a solution to help but no use. She watches as her brothers fight back and she takes that chance to swim away and warn her parents. She swims as fast as she could and stopped when she saw the sunlight of the human world no longer visible. She looks back worried and takes a chance to swim above waters. She was welcomed with dark storms and heavy rain. YN was amazed at the sight of humans running from the rain. More exactly, she was amazed in their legs. She shakes her head as she realizes what she was supposed to do and goes back to her original task.
Another vision shows the merfolk grieving after the invasion.
Another one shows them rebuilding their city in another location.
The final one shows YN staring at Charlie as he calls out for her to get out of the waters.
The final one was different than the other ones. He felt his heart no longer heavy and sad but happy and warm. Almost of YN seeing Charlie cured her of her sadness.
Shawn gasps as he pulls away from her. "YN... I'm so sorry." He whispers as she wipes a tear quickly. "I promise. Charlie and I will protect you." He pulls out his pinky. YN looks at it and does the same actions. "This is a pinky promise. It's the strongest of all promises" YN takes his pinky and they shake on it.
As this was happening. Another figure came out of the water. One with the same scales and fins. Not like YN. No not like sweet innocent YN. More like a mean and dark figure and he was looking for YN.
