Michael looked at the girl in front of him in disbelief. What she was saying sounded so impossible. Y/N? The woman who he had once loved so much. He felt dizzy for a moment.

Clearing his throat he spoke up, "Um... Will you please wait outside while I finish?"

Angel nodded turning around to leave. She didn't completely leave the place, just far enough to not be near Michael. She leaned against the wall and sighed.

I really messed up, she thought. Did I really have to say it so bluntly.

She watched what seemed like an endless line of people. She checked her wristwatch. 9:45 PM. As the time passed and people stopped coming in, she grew tired. She let out a yawn as she saw the last few people going to meet Michael and then leaving.

She was already nodding off when she saw him walking towards her. She immediately shook her head and stood straight, trying to look presentable.

"You say you're my daughter...?"

Angel nodded. Michael's jaw clenched sightly.

"Why didn't she tell me?"

"She tried to... believe me. She did everything to reach you... but it never worked out," She looked down. "She told me you two agreed not to contact each other again."

"Yes. But if I had know I would've—"

"Michael," she had wanted all her life to be able to address him as her father but she couldn't. "You don't need to explain yourself. I know..."

He didn't know what to say. He ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. He had a daughter all this time and he didn't even know. He missed all the milestones of her life, apparently, and now she felt like a complete stranger.

Angel felt some sort of pain at his silence. Of course, she didn't expect for him to hug her or show her affection. But there was a small part of her that still hoped.

"Look... I didn't come here for you to assume responsibility as my father. Or so we could 'bond' as father and daughter," she lied. "I just thought you should know. And because this is something my Mom has always wanted. So..."

She turned around to leave.

"Wait," she heard Michael behind her. She turned around slowly. "I want to get to know you...."

The next day Angel joined Michael for rehearsals. She watched as he practiced and communicated with everyone who was present. He was so polite and nice to everyone. When it was time for break he took a water bottle and went to join her. She was sitting where the audience would on a normal concert.

He sat next to her. "So... how old are you?"

"I'll be eighteen in a month."

Micheal nodded and looked towards the stage. "How long have you known about... this?"

"I always knew," she whispered quietly. Something inside him broke. He was the only one in the dark, the only one who knew nothing. He just found out yesterday that he was a father.

Angel could sense his discomfort. "I brought some pictures."

Michael blinked and swallowed the ache in his throat. He watched as she pulled out a small photo album from her bag. She gave it to him and he took it gingerly in his hands.

He opened it to the first page to find some ultrasounds. Then a picture of Y/N while she was pregnant. Angel noticed he contemplated the picture for a while, his eyes softened. He turned the page to see a picture of Angel as a newborn. He felt a strange warmness in his heart.

He could feel tears in his eyes as he continued seeing that photo album. As he kept seeing pictures of Angel as a baby, then a toddler, his sight began to blur. A tear escaped and he wiped it off immediately. Angel hesitated before putting her hand in his arm.

"I'm sorry," he said. "For crying... and for not being there. It's just that if I could bring back time..."

He covered his face with his hands.

"It's okay... I never blamed you for not being there..." She sighed lightly. "We can make up the lost time, Dad."

He looked at her, his eyes still glistening with tears. "Can I hug you?"

She nodded and he embraced her in a warm hug. She blinked away the tears and hugged him closer. Ever since she was little she had always wanted to do this.

They continued looking at the pictures, Angel leaning her head in his shoulder.

Michael let out a small laugh. "Come to think of it, you look like Janet in this one..."

Angel only smiled to herself. People always told her that, but she couldn't tell them she was related to her.

The next of the days she spent with Michael. It was bittersweet. She got to spend time with him, but he was also busy with his tour. She was only planning on staying a few days, so inevitably, it was time for her to go.

"Do you really have to go so soon?" Michael said as she watched her pack her things.

"Yeah... I promised Mom i'll be back soon," she said zipping the suitcase.

Michael nodded. He wondered how she was after all those years. He hugged Angel one last time before she left to go to the airport. He realized now that he was going to be lonely.

Angel unlocked the door to her house, Y/N was already there waiting for her. She hugged her, "Welcome back, Angel."

She returned the embrace and whispered, "Mom... I met Dad."
