Two months later...

Y/N stared out the window as she washed the dishes. She wasn't okay these days, reminiscing of the past.

She put away the last plate and dried her hands. Today was the weekend and she usually spent her day home. Just as she was about to sit down the doorbell rang.

"Coming!"

She was left in shock as she opened the door. "...Michael."

He was wearing a black face mask and sunglasses. He was also wearing a black coat. "Hi, Y/N. Can I come in?"

She cleared her throat and opened the door more, moving out of the way. Michael walked in looking around the place. She closed the door behind him. He took off the glasses and face mask, putting them in his pocket.

"So... Where's Angel?"

"She's at work..." She said, crossing her arms over her chest in discomfort. She didn't expect to see him. Ever. "Do you... want to sit down?"

He took a seat in the living room and she followed. "Yes... we have a lot to talk about."

She took a seat in the other couch. "What do you want to know?"

"When did you find out you were pregnant?"

"The day you left..." she said remembering how much she cried that day. It probably took her years to get over him, or at least she thought she was over him. Now, seeing him again, she wasn't so sure.

"Angel already told me... but was there really no way to reach me?"

"I tried for years to get a hold of you. To tell you that I had your daughter. To tell you that you were a father..." She looked down. "But it took a toll on my health and I decided to focus on myself, focus on my daughter."

"I feel so stupid..." Michael said suddenly. "There were so many times when I wanted to call you, but I knew I couldn't make you happy."

Y/N shook her head. "What are you talking about, Michael? I would've been happy with you regardless. But that doesn't matter anymore. What matters is that you finally met Angel."

Michael only managed to nod. "I'll never get over the fact that I missed the most important time of her life. She's basically an adult now... and she works!" he let out a bitter, but painful laugh.

Y/N stood up and went to retrieve something. Michael observed her quietly. She came back with a folder. She handed it to him, then sitting down next to him. "You were on her mind all these years. I made sure of that."

Michael opened the folder and what looked to be pictures drawn by a child. It was for Father's Day. There was a figure that was supposed to be him and another one that was Angel. They were holding hands. Michael let out a small giggle. There was only a few but he noticed different details in all of them.

"This belongs to you," Y/N said. "She only did them until she was about ten or eleven... I'm glad you finally get to have them."

Michael was in awe. He only knew Angel for two months, but she already meant so much to him. He already loved her so much. She was his daughter, after all. "Thank you..."

They both sat in silence until they heard the front door being unlocked.

"Mom! I'm back!" She was hanging up her keys and when she saw Michael sitting in the living room. Her expression showed confusion and then excitement. "Dad... What are you doing here, I thought you were on tour."

"Yes... But I took a break to come visit you." He stood up welcoming her into his arms. Angel ran accepted happily and ran to him.

Y/N watched the scene, smiling to herself. This was something she always wanted to see as she raised Angel all alone. Seeing her Michael was surreal.

"Oh... you saw my cards," Angel said shyly, looking at the open folder.

"I hope you don't mind," Michael said. "I really loved them."

"No, of course not..." She looked at the shelf where they kept movies. "Come on let's watch a movie! Mom, come join us!"

"Oh... I don't know..." Y/N didn't know if it was okay to say yes. Maybe Michael still wasn't comfortable with her.

"Please, Y/N. Join us..." Michael said warmly.

"Alright..." She said standing up, "I'll go make some popcorn.

Angel considered that to be one of that best evenings of her life. After the initial tension, her parents managed to act naturally around each other. It seemed like they were an actual family. They fooled around and had so much fun. Laughing at random thing and throwing popcorn at each other.

By the end of the second movie, they stopped paying attention completely.

"Now we only have one thing left to do..." Michael said holding Angel's hand.

"What is that?"

Angel felt on top of the world as she excited the courthouse. The documents on her hand dictated that she was officially a Jackson. It was a long and tiring process, but it was all worth it.

Michael held her close, "Angel Jackson."

"It sounds perfect!"
